Absinthe is a spirit or alcohol type substance, bright green in nature, and illegal in most areas of the world now.
It was drunk a lot some time ago and there are a lot of artists that claimed inspiration from it, from what is called the green fairy.
It is distilled from wormwood and is, in essence, a deadly poison. One has to be careful if one is going to try drinking it.
I believe that it is drunk by first placing a sugar cube on a spoon and pouring some water over the cube and allowing that water to dilute the absinthe.
Hope that this helps.
