I refuse to believe that someone can be a good person, kind, thoughtful and caring, but if they don't believe in the right version of the right god they can still go to hell. Or that people could be marked with the sign of the beast against their will and have THAT count as to whether or not they go to hell. I also find many verses, especially some of the "laws," to be offensive. And what kind, loving god would leave us to our own devices? Any good parent can tell you that you have to discipline your children when they get out of line, and if he really did love us it seems to me that he would not only make himself visible, he would enforce his own commandments. One of the other major things I don't like is the way the bible has theist undertones - it practically PREACHES non-tolerance towards other religions. I have other reasons, but this posting's getting to be a bit big as is. Hope this sheds a little light on my views for you.

I deny gods because there is no rational reason to believe that gods and goddesses are anything other than characters created by the human imagination.

Name one thing that distinguishes religious belief from pure fiction. You can't. No-one ever has, in all the history of the world. People choose to believe in deities because it's part of their culture, or because they fear death, or because of ignorance - Religious belief is inversely related to educational standards. People who understand how the universe really works - who understand biology and cosmology and geology and so on - rarely imagine any supernatural entities are involved in the universe. There is simply no reason to believe in them any more, when you know the truth. It's part of growing up, like not believing in Santa Claus any more.

each culture have their own god, there are so many gods, and everyone believes their god is the one, for that I think gods are created by some very intelligent people long long time ago, to benefit their society, most gods are good to human being, and they are very powerful, more powerful than law, and they are the ultimate mental medicine, that is what human being need. I don't have anything against people who believe in god.

why? ppl keep saying that God is love, God is goodness, God is perfect, God created this world.
if God is love and goodness and creator of this world why there's so much hatered and evil? what's more, can anyone, believing in God as a creator of the world, what about prehistoric times? what about dinosaurs? what about evolution? have it never took place?? I don't think anyone could tell me this.
I think that belief is belief, is for ppl who need to believe in something, something godness. I don't have such need and also I don't find any religion perfect, as many of believers consider them to be. looking back all history event and seeing how much pain, killing, wars, hatered religions caused I'd prefer there was NO religion in our world, it's not worth it. why ppl can't just believe in what they think is right and do not fight with these who don't believe? ppl should put away their believes in contacts with other ppl, it's our personal thing and NO-ONE should be judged by what he/she believes in. but I guess this not going to happen ever. ppl will keep judging others, keep accusing of sins and evil life only because their belief says so. why just dont let ppl be who they are and keep your religion in your heart only and not see anyone throught the perseptive of it? I don't want to be part of that, I don't need any religion, it's enough for me to live true with myself and not hurt anyone, because no-one deserves that.

I believe in a Deity, but it's not the Christian/Judaic/Muslim God. I believe in a Deity that is dual-faced: male and female. My Goddess and God give me more spiritual connection than I ever felt as I was being raised Christian. I don't dislike Christianity, but I feel no connection to it.

Because I have never seen, felt, heard, or experienced anything in my life that would give me cause to beleive. The concept of god is strictly man made. Man made god in his image, not the other way around. And the bible simply christian mythlogy, stories meant to teach symbolic lessons, much the same as ancient greek and roman mythology.

There is nothing to support any such belief.

I should have said, "nothing credible or objectively verifiable to support such a belief."

And partly because people who do believe try to offer red herrings as their "evidence."

I have yet to figure out how watches or anything else is proof God exists, but they keep throwing it out there as if it proves something. The only thing it really proves is believers are irrational.

I believe 100% in God
When you see the universe and how it is created you will definitely believe in Him... How could He make all that?? Till today scientists can't even have an explanation to that..
