Train. You arrive from Paris at Stazione Centrale in Milan. Then take the greenline Metro to Cadorna, then the train to Como.

If you are going by car...go to this website
www.Mappy.fr (also in english)
They will give you the best route, how long it takes in actual driving time, and how much you will spend on fuel for the car. (They even indicate where the radar speed traps are placed)
You could go: Paris-Lyon-Grenoble to Switzerland and down to Como. via Aosta..
Or Paris- Nice-Monaco-Torino-Milan-Como
Mappy will tell you which is shortest, has the best roads and less expense.
Have a nice trip!
