We don't have beer available in schooner's here, just mugs, glasses, cans, kegs, bottles and ruby slippers. And for gods sake we don't sell it by the bloody pint either. If you order a glass of beer here in the states it will probably cost about$3- $4 unless it is a good beer which probably did not get brewed here than anyways.

I'm in Sydney and its about the same price... so know I just buy Bourbon when I'm out... which is my preferred drink!
But, what ever happened to the $2 schooners all night? or the jugs that some places used to do.
As for the USA, I don't know about there beer prices but Millers is alright.

How many ounces in a schooner? bottles? sorry? How's Oz by the way? I like visiting the Hyups when I'm there, nevermind the man behind the curtain.

2 kinds of beer in the us these days, domestic, such as Budweiser, miller Pabst etc., and micros/imports. most beer comes in a "pounder" these days. a pounder is properly 16 ounces (a pint) although many use a "cheater" which looks like a pint but isn't (14 ounces). no one uses schooners anymore.
we sell domestic for 1.75 - 2.50. happy hour, 1.25 - 2.00. micros go for 3.00 - 3.50. 2.50 happy hour. imports 3.00 - 4.50. on the other hand, a friend has a college tavern and he sells some cheap swill for 2.00 for a 3 pint pitcher on thursday nite. of course you could easily pay 5.00 - 6.00 (or more!) for a 12 ounce plastic cup at a fair, a ball park, or a concert venue.

A schooner is a fairly large sailing vessel, so i'm thinking if you had one filled with beer it would cost tens of thousands of dollars.

considering a schooner is around a pint then its anywhere from 1.00 to 5.00 depending where you get it and what kind of beer you get and what part of the country your in. i've paid as little as .25 cents a beer on certain nights at college bars. i'm in new orleans at the moment and i've paid 5.00 for a draft on bourban street in one bar and 1.00 for the same beer at a dive down the road from it.

The real question is why would anyone drink that nasty beer? I am sad to say that it is made here in Canada and it is a poor excuse for a beer.
