Speaking from a Christian perspective, men and women are equally likely to believe in God...
However,WOMEN are more likely to do something about their belief than men are--ln Church, they're on the committees and boards and meetings.....much more so than men - as every Church goer knows.

not sure there is a difference really. i think belief just happens for some people; i know someone said that being raised by a religious family helps but I'm not sure that's the case, i know many people from deeply religious backgrounds who have completely gone away from that religion and either converted to an alternative or walked away from it all entirely.
My sister is a christian; whereas I have no belief in a "higher power" or some kind of omniscient super-being sitting on a cloud somewhere deciding the fate of us mere mortals.
2 women, same upbringing, totally different outlook.

nicely, that relies upon on the way you define intelligence and how you define a theory in God. The greater knowledgeable one is, the fewer in all probability they're to have a stable religious association... except they're Jewish. greater smart people the two are much less in all probability to have faith in God or are Jewish may be a greater precise assertion. They throw a wrench in it because of the fact some million/4 of all grownup Jews have graduate stages contained in usa (as against single digit probabilities for the different religious crew). As an atheist myself, i do no longer equate intelligence with theory in God or one being religious. One ought to make that decision on a case by potential of case foundation. in lots of techniques, the way you have faith in God is my foundation of questioning somebody is stupid or no longer whilst it contains those concerns. One might disagree with their theory in gods, yet they won't be able to deny that they seem to be a smart bunch (regardless of the certainty that, in case you incredibly get into the nitty gritty of Jewish mysticism, the only genuine difference between an atheist and Jewish attitude is that Jewish pupils have faith the universe has its very own sentience, awareness, and self-awareness on an identical time as an atheist does not, and believes it acts in accordance to organic regulation and not something greater).

What you're really asking here is who is the more gullible and needy - women or men?
I'm afraid the answer seems to be women. Certainly more go to church. It's odd. 'cos we're the more intelligent gender obviously.
Go figure...
