Thank the pro-hispanic lobby on this one, what it largely seems to amount to is a 'shotgun wedding' between the US and Mexico, and american taxpayers are supposed to buy off on all this garbage and not bat an eye. Since the reverse effect is happening, well it kind of shows that the GOP's head and hind-quarters aren't very well connected anymore, or one has lapped the other, something like that...what this also brings to light, though, is all these other 'programs' that give money away all over the place, Matthew Lesko's dream-come-true, and the taxpayer's worst nightmare, wealth redistribution in the worst possible sense. I think if we're going to help Mexico, it needs to be a lot more metered, and done AFTER the border's nailed shut, so as to minimize the negative impact on american communities. I think when the House finally gets around to consulting the voters on this one, there's going to be a general consensus going back to washington that basically says 'fix the border, and forget the rest of it'. It's a nice idea to try and help others, but if that 'help' is just going to get abused, there's not much point to it. Necessity's the mother of invention, and a lot of the people that originally settled the United States didn't get much 'help', because there wasn't any. Let's not have any more of this 'give away the country to appease your 3rd world business partners' garbage....Mexico could be rolling in money(some already are, they just don't share out) and feed, clothe, and educate every last one of their citizens, probably just off their oil revenues, but instead they'd like to ride the american guilt trip into a split-level condo...time for voters/taxpayers to wake the hell UP and say 'no mas' at the polls, come november...

They do take citizenship tests, try to learn English, and work their way up like ANY OTHER AMERICAN. My parents came over from Mexico and now own a successful business, and did it on their own. They have four kids that have graduated from college or are currently in college. So for you ignorant kids calling us lazy, grow up. Mexicans are not the only ones that receive housing, jobs, tax breaks, and health insurance. You act as if they come to the US to feed off of the government. THAT is VERY UNTRUE. THey come here to work, not to ask for money. They are hard working people that you hardly ever see on the streets asking for money. They are the ones you see in the heat or the freezing cold, doing all the jobs the other Americans refuse to do. Not everything is handed to them because that is not how we are raised. Go out to a construction site, or the kitchen of a restaurant.

We shouldn't get any different treatment. I agree!
Let me ask you this.
Why do you assume all Mexicans haven't taken a citizenship test, aren't able to speak Spanish and work their way just like any American?
Why do you make sweeping statements like that?
I am a Mexican American who was born here, my parents were legal immigrants who went through all the proper channels to get their citizenship. NOTHING was 'handed' to us.
We haven't been given government subsidized housing, we weren't given a job, we went out and found one, we DON'T get any tax breaks for being minority, we pay the same rate as anyone else and we are not given FREE health care....
So get a clue and an education!

That's just it, they don't really want to be American citizens. I work with many illegals & I ask them, "wouldn't you rather have citizenship", most I've spoken to, are cool with just Amnesty. One guy I work with, has been in the US for 22yrs, he applied for citizenship years ago and finally received it. He used to visit Mexico apx. once a year, however since becoming a US citizen, he rarely visits. I thought that to be odd, considering he can cross legally now.
Some of the illegals I've talked to, from other Latin Am countries do want citizenship. I'm suprised when I learn they aren't from Mexico, rather El Salv, Guatamala, Ecuador, etc, that's because they don't boast such national pride, like their Mexican counterparts.
Some of the illegal Mexicans living in the US 10yrs+, had children here, yet still hold onto their Mexican pride, which has resulted in many discussions. My opinion to them is, holding onto this pride might confuse your kids(who are Americans), and create a torn sense of National pride: US(birthplace) or Mexico(parents birthplace). Or cause resentment, towards the US in most cases.
The real point is, All Illegals that crossed the border, know they are here illegally. I don't know any who first applied for US citizenship in their home countries. They don't even look into it, they just cross over... Not Cool.

I think America is cracking down on this and if you all have noticed...it all started with Katrina. We cant afford the mexicans here and if all our money was not going to them,,,we could have taken care of our own in Louisanna. It is always something slipping through the cracks and the Mexican Leader to call it Migration!Thats ****!All I see is the mexicans trying to figure ways around the welfare system for a hand out.Take away the welcome basket and they wont want to come here as bad.

because they are lazy, and want things handed to them. If you make them citizens, do you think that they will work for $4 an hour ? or will they demand more ? THEY WILL DEMAND MORE !
and vote for another Mexican who will turn the US into a welfare state. Go back to mexico city, and work for 10 cents a day if you don't like it here, we don't want you, and you do take jobs away from us, we don't want $4 an hour jobs, if these coc roaches were'nt here, we could get the going rate, so don't buy that "We do the jobs that Amercans don't want crap"

Because the Hispanic Caucus of the Deomocratic Party wants to make voters out of them.
Furthermore, once pardoned of their crimes, they will instantly be "Officially Oppressed Minorities" who will have an unfair advantage over law-abiding white citizens.

Its easy to understand. Elected leaders decided in the late 1980's to ignore our laws particularly when it comes to employing an illegal allien. Now they have 12 million of these folks in town and they want their votes. So they want to give, give and give to them and then say - look what I gave you - vote for me.
Look up the list of 62 senators who voted for amnesty and make sure you vote against yours -if they are on there. Mine is.
