Yeah, it's also a good way to make yourself sick and otherwise unhealthy. Diet (not complete absitenance) and exercise is the best way to lose weight. It always has been.

Why would you want to do this?? Do you need to lose weight?? It would work, but it is very dangerous and i would not suggest doing it. You can over hydrate your self. i know that it sounds crazy cause water is suppose to be good for you, but it can be done. i know it's happened to me before. i did not stop eating altogeter just cut back and drank water constantly all day. probably averaging around a gallon and 1/2 a day. At first you feel really great expecially when you don't usually drink water then after awhile you begin to feel really really bad!!!!! your don't feel right. your brain just doesn't seem to function right and you drag all day no matter how much you sleep. you feel almost like you have the flu. i really don't think you would enjoy feeling like this even it does get you skinny. Also you won't stay that. the second you begin to eat again you will pack on the pounds fast. cause duringn the time that you have not eaten your body has gone in to starvation mode meaning it will begin to store any bite of fat that is put into the body reversing everything that you have done. not to mention all the vitamins that you are depriving from your body. you need food to live. never starve your self to be what you think everyone else would like. i know it's easier said then done, but a good person will love you for who you are.

Water is a wonderful dietary supplement for several reasons. Firstly, it fills you up to a certain extent so that you will not eat as much food during meals. Secondly it does not contain any sugars or any other harmful elements found in many beverages. If you normally drink colas and other drinks rather then water during meals, then replacing those drinks with water will definitely help you lose weight. I dont think you will necessarily lose weight fast but I gurantee you will see a difference in your appearence within a few weeks. Also, the more water you drink that better so drink up! (If you found this helpful, could you please make this your best answer)

You're talking about fasting. If you do not also take additional supplements like 3 Vit and mineral pills a day plus at least 3 liters of water, you'll get sick. Plus you still need to do some exercise to retain muscle. Moreover, if you fast for any extended period of time, you need to be under medical supervision (i.e. get blood pressure checked daily, etc.). You'll drop weight if you fast, no doubt, but it's very risky and I wouldn't recommend it unless you're doing it under supervision.
On the other hand, you can fast for a day and it'll actually do your body good. It'll shrink your stomach which will make it easier to eat smaller portions.

Hatingmsn is right. You will lose weight fast. You will hit the floor in a faint fast from not eating or drinking. You will end up in the emergency room fast, and you can do permanent damage to yourself and end up dead. fast. So see your doctor. If he agrees you need to lose weight, he will help you, or find someone professional to help. And find a weight and height chart. Find your weight and height, and if you find you are well within normal limits, maybe you have a bigger problem than you thought. Ask a trusted adult or your doctor if the word anorexia fits you. Hope not!

It might for a short while, but it also makes you weak and brings your metabolism to a screeching halt as your body goes into "starvation mode". Eventually you will get hungry and have to eat. Then your body - still thinking it is starving - wants to store every little calorie as fat deposits for the next starvation period and you end up gaining more than you just lost.
Drinking lots of water is great, it helps flush the system. Think about drastically increasing your vegetable and fruit intake (preferably fresh as processing adds sugars and salt) and lower your fattly foods and carbohydrates. Get out and exercise. Please don't starve yourself, it never works.

no, you may lose only a little weight. You body goes into stavation mode when we go for long periods with out food. the body is programmed to recieve food a certain intervals, and when it doesn't get that food, it slows down our metabolism so we don't burn calories or fat. so it stores and keeps everything and uses it very slowly..

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!

It will make you fat. Starvation causes your body to scavange muscle much faster than it burns fat. With decreased muscle mass, your basal metabolism falls dramatically and permanently (unless you rebuild that muscle mass with weight training). Immediate weight gain comences soon after.
