I'm a 16 yr old black guy in a mostly white town. I'm kinda shy, but i'm not afraid to meet new people. I am shy around girls, however. In our area, at least, it's a bit difficult to find a white girl that likes black guys, and there aren't enough black girls. I really only hang out with my best friend, and neither of us can find girls. I'm good friends with some white girls, but they, looking to rebound, overlook me as a possibility, even though they tell me everything.

I'm a 6' weight lifter who doesn't go out much, doesn't party, doesn't socialize as often as expected, and has never had a girlfriend before. I basically need help with all of this. What should I do?

I'd really like to find somebody before college, or at least hang out with more people. Otherwise I won't have a prom date and I won't really kno what to do when I might be looking for more serious relationships (aka marriage).

ok so apparently i'm not THAT shy, but i don't consider myself to be having fun like others are either. My friend and I (him in the same situation, with less friends) are scouting around in the surrounding towns, but with little to no success.

o yea and two other details: 1) i don't care what race she is, and 2) a lot of the girls in my school drink and smoke, another big turn-off.

Thanks for your help!

Hey CLS,
First, do not be too worry about it. You are only 16 years old. Life is all ahead for you. You may not be in this area longer... College may take you away from there. So, things may change. However, I understand that it is cool to have a girlfriend and all that and that you justly want one right now, since you never had one.
What do you mean there are not enough black girls? You just need one, right? So...
It seems that you assuming too many things about the white girls. I know that are people that do not date out of their race, but the good news are; times have changed and lots of people do date out of their race, me included.
I think your major problems may be found in your last paragraph.
1. Go out more often.
2. Party more.
3. Socialize more.
And naturally you will find a girlfriend and will have fun and possible you will fall in love with her and .. who knows what else?
Good luck!

Hmm, this is a good question! Haha....

Well, that does sound hard but there will be females who will be interested....

The best thing to do here may be to get out there and be aggresive (or...active) as opposed to passive. Approach as many women as you can, not with any intentions but to get to know them. Make sure people know you are not gay. (I don't mean that as an insult, but that happens to be the case sometimes)

Try and meet as many people as you can, school is starting in the fall, so that's a good opportunity. I think there are plenty of girls who would crave your "quiet" personality. Oh, just make sure you don't make it obvious that your intention is having a relationship, because that sort of "desperation" does wierd things to females.

Well I hope everything goes well for you!!
Hope this helps! =]

Have you taken the first step to see what you want in a girlfriend. Find someone with similar interests and start up a conversation and go from there. Also you are young so don't overlook your education- that should be paramount also. Anyway be yourself and get out more.

Get over the differences between you and the other people that live where you are, be yourself, no matter what. If you teach yourself to get past this difference of color thing, you'll become a much better person in life. Whatever differences there are between us doesn't matter when it comes down to what it is that you put into your life. Positive people get positive results, negative people will get negative results, it's that simple.

Be who YOU are, not others preconceptions of who you MIGHT be. :)

Hey dude, white chicks dig black guys. Don't you know that a black guy with a hot white chick spells power??? Get your fill of white chicks, and when you go to college, there will be even more flavors to choose from--Black, White, Latin, Asian, Indian, etc. Get the chicks nearest to you. If you don't and you die tomorrow, you will always regret it.

well you have girls that friends and i am sure they must know black girls or can give you advice to ask girls out when you are in public places like the mall. ask them for advice and they can help. you don't want them if they are overlooking you, they aren't worth your relationship time. but use their friendship to your advantage. you can't be too shy to be a guy with girl friends.

Wait until you are old enough to date. By that time you should find a black girl who will date you. Maybe their parents don't allow them to date at this young age.

Time and time again I counsel the young ones--you have to roll with the Benjamin's and bling. You do that and you will be banging chicks left and right of all backrounds. It really is that simple so try it out for yourself

be yourself and try and be more active in socializing - you sound like a nice guy and surely someone will take notice. just keep in mind your 16 and sometimes that is a rough age all by itself.
best of luck.
