Each persons situation is going to be different. However, before you buy a timeshare, consider all of your costs. You have the original cost of the timeshare, then you have fees and upkeep that you will pay each year. If you calculate it out, how many trips would you have to take before the timeshare would make it worthwhile for you.

A lot of people buy timeshares and later try to sell them just because the costs are too much to upkeep, they aren't happy with the property anymore, they don't get everything they thought they would, etc. You just need to look into your options and decide if one will be right for you. I know people that love their timeshare (though maybe not really saving them money) and some people that really don't like their timeshare.

In my experience, and I travel quite often, a timeshare really isn't worth it.

yes. Even if you buy a timeshare in one location, you can often TRADE it with another timeshare in another location. This is based on availability, of course, and varies.
