Nah not a problem...but at some point in your life there will come a time when the doctor will look at you and say suck it up already I'm not going to be putting your medication into a liquid form. There are many ways to start making yourself being able to swallow pills. How about taking an M & M and then try swallow it. Those are similar to the size of regular pills. Happy swallowing.

Lots of people I know either can't or barely can swallow a pill. I personally think this is just a hang up they've got with pills for the most part. If they can swallow a normal size bite of food they should be able to swallow a pill, I'm saying.

I have lots of trouble swallowing pills. I usually cut them in half and take them with milk or something smooth like that. You could always crush them up and put them in some sort of liquid, but I am not sure how effective they would be then! I'd hate to go through life not able to take Aleve or Midol!!

The question is have you consulted with your physician to ensure that their is no underlying problem? If you have and he says everything is ok, then don't worry about it. Just be sure that you tell your doctor when he prescribes medications (don't expect him/her to remember) so that he can give you things that can be crushed (some pills can't, it affects the way they work) or swallowed with pudding, applesauce, etc..

Actually I can swallow as many pills as I've ever been given! At breakfast I take a pretty big cap-ful of pills! OTOH my mom & sister can't! What's normal?

It's perfectly normal. If you get a perscription, make sure to tell your doctor - a lot of medicine comes in liquid form as well a pill form.

The question is, does food ever get stuck in your esophagus and hurts until it finally gets all the way down? Also, do you have frequent heartburn? If you answer yes to these problems then it is bad and you need to see a doctor.
