For some reason, I get allergic reactions to Peanut Butter. Maybe because it touched machines that process other nuts(which I AM allergic to), but when I eat peanuts straight out of the shell, NOTHING HAPPENS. And I heard that roasting and boiling changes the proteins in the Peanut which can make me have allergic reactions. So how can I make safe peanut butter?

Well...I'm allergic to almost all other nuts...Walnuts...Hazelnuts...but not almonds. And I've also had allergic to reactions to roasted peanuts...so I don't know if it's the fact that it has been roasted, or maybe it touched walnuts...I don't know. When I eat chinese food with peanuts, NOTHING happens...because they boil the peanuts. Will boiling the peanut still work in making peanut butter?

Buy a bag of penuts in the shell crack them open put them in a food processor and turn it on high until it is mush. If it's too thick add a vegitable oil you are not allergic too a little at a time while processor is on until it is how you want it. Not gonna taste the same as skippy but it will work.

Homemade Peanut Butter

Here's what you will need to make it:

1 1/2 cups unsalted roasted peanuts

3 1/2 teaspoons vegetable oil

1/4 teaspoon salt

blender

rubber spatula

medium bowl

spoon

Here's what you have to do:

1. Check with a grown-up before you start this.

2. Put all the ingredients into a blender.

3. Blend for 25 seconds.

4. The peanut butter will probably be stuck to the bottom, so make sure the blender is completely stopped and take it off its stand. Then, using a rubber spatula, mix everything around.

5. Blend for 20 more seconds.

6. Put the peanut butter into a bowl.

7. Stir until smooth. Spread on your favorite bread , add some jelly, and enjoy!

8. It's stick-to-the-roof-of-your-mouth tasty!

9. Bon Appetit!

Here is a recipe for Homemade Peanut Butter

1 Pound Shelled and skinned unroasted peanuts
1/4 cup wheat germ
1 tablespoon sea salt (optional)
1 tablespoon tahini (sesame paste)

Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Place the peanuts on a well oiled baking sheet and bake 10 - 15 minutes or until golden , stirring several times.

Place all but 1/4 cup of the peanuts in a blender with the wheat germ, salt and tahini. Blend until smooth. Chop the reserved peanuts roughly to desired size and add to the blended mixture.

***** NOTE *****
The peanuts can also be ground without roasting first. Mix the finely ground nuts with enough tahini to make a spreading consistency.

A store named Wild Oats has a fresh peanut butter...made by you at the store...so you know exactly what goes in. The one I know about is in Tulsa, OK...but their website is www.wildoats.com. Maybe they can send you to a store near you. Also "The Whole Food Stores" may have something like this too. Have you tried putting peanuts in the food processor and pureeing them? Good Luck hope this helps. okmkgal

A number of good recipes have been posted. Another thing you might consider is getting organic peanut butter: It sounds more like you're sensitive to some chemical, rather than the peanuts themselves.

A number of people in my family have to watch out for such things. Good luck!

It can be from the sugars, preservatives and anything else used to make the peanut butter. You can get peanut butter made only from peanuts and nothing added to them - no sugars, oils, etc.. Doesn't taste as good but it may be your best option. You can get them at your health food store.,

You could buy a grinder or food processor (like the magic bullet) and grind up the peanuts yourself. Add some honey or sugar and voila! Homemade peanut butter! : )

Just go buy yourself some peanuts in shell, shell them and put them in a food processor. Adding some honey and salt would probably be a great idea and lead to a great taste.
