In general, say college, the student is ready to leave and start his/her own lives. Just like baby birds. When they are ready to fly, they fly. If the mother birds instincts are not well, the bird falls. Such is life, sink of swim it's up to you.

I can under stand your condition>one feels home sick feels depressed at times feels like running away from that place. All thisthings are very normal.what you should remember that at any time you should not get into any bad company to cope up with your home sickness.thsi is the time boys girls start smoking drinking.Your parents have sent you far away to study so if you love them just think that any cost you should not let them feel ashmmed of your self rather study hard and make them feel proud of you.Choose a good friend for your self where ever you are at the moment. One good friend is enough to carry on your rest of the time. You can share your thoughts with her/him.Think positive dont allow any negetive thought come to your mind.where ever you are stayin ensure that there is enough light in the room more light make one cheerful.spray some good perfume or room freshner .Put some flowers in room.If you believe in god everyday after you take bath pray to god for 5 mins
By doing all this things you would be able to cope up with your new routine.all the best to you

well, you just have to except it on a level of being humble. Like when I got arrested,I didn't want to be there at all but I had to have a mind set so that I wouldn't go crazy and I actually made the best out of my stay and ended up enjoying my little secluded vacation,no bills, no drugs, no indecision about what to wear or fix for dinner.

Good question but you didnt mention the student age,id student age is < 10 means only warden an staff who is working there fortaking care of student ,the staff has to mingle with the student and knows what the student like and dislikes and that staff must make that student not to think about his home.

If the student age is more than 10, one thing he has to do onething he has to mingle and make friends with his/her room mates(hostel) or class mates ,if he/she stays in hostel surely ther will be race between in senior and juniors ,if it is there he/she has mingle with seniors and make friendship them this will automatically leads to the student hapiness it will helpful to forget about his home

for further details u can contact me 24314909 is my number i know u r tamil ,even i , im waiting for ur reply and my id is karthiktushar@yahoo.co.in

Surround yourself with things that remind you of home for a familiarity feeling.

Don't think about home too much.

=) Volunteer! It's a great way to meet people and it serves a good purpose.

Join school clubs too :)

There are two things in life that never change: one is God, and the other is that everything else changes. If you base your security on that, you will be able to adjust to any situation.

Make friends in your new environment. If you have some friends you will feel more comfortable in the new surroundings than if you don't know anyone.
