I wanted to carry my toothbrush & toothpaste with me due to an extended layover; And I didn't really want to split up my travel kit, which includes the nail clippers. Thanks to all of you, I will put my toothbrush & paste into carry on, all the rest goes into checked bags. Seems like the best way to go. Thanks.

Now you can, yes. Also knives less than 3 inches in blade length.

Yes, you can, but, take it out and put it into the box before going through the xray machine... if it is in your carry on, it will set off the alarm and they will take forever to check your bags.

Yes you can, but some TSA may still challenge you. While all airports are suppose to go by the same basic rules, they don't!

If you must carry them on, take a cheap pair... just in case you hit one of 'those' TSA folks.
However I would suggest just tossing them in your checked bag.

Yes, but its a better idea just to buy them for 1 dollar once you get off the plane. They searched me and my bags for ever because my nail clippers was setting off the xray machine.

also hair dryers set off the xray thingy too.

Check out the official list. However, I'd put everything that might be questionable into my check-in bag just to not have to worry about it.

After 9/11, such item is prohobited on most airlines. Best to keep it in your check-in luggage.
