Try second hand stores like St Vincent de Paul and Salvation Army. I've had terrific luck at both places!

Don't laugh -- but I bought some decent (not great, but for a budget fairly good) dressers at Target. They are stylish, however they are "some assemby required." Check out your local store...here they are always on sell and look nicer than what they have online. Also, www.overstock.com has some great furniture deals.
