I have A Boston Terrier, She is 11 years old, and in the last year I have noticed that when I give her just one bite of food from the refrigerator, she throws up…

And I forgot one day and I gave her one bite of ice cream, and 30 sec. later she threw up.
After she throws up, she is not sick, she turns and eats her dog food that’s room temp, its just food that’s real cold.

I have always given her cold food at times and it never bothered her, until about a year ago she stared it.

Has anyone else have a dog that dose this?

My old lab-mix would be much more likely to vomit if her food was cold too. Not immediate like your Boston, but still certainly something we paid attention to. She had a number of digestive issues. I suspect that the cold just puts enough extra strain on the stomach that it was more than the stomach could handle. I don't know if you'll find out what causes your girl's particular quirk, but good for you for being able to isolate the reason to 'cold stuff'.

what the hell is asdf???!!! Anyways
I have a pomeranian, and first I'm sure you know that dogs shouldn't eat our food, they don't digest the way we do, but it could be her age. As in people, as we age, parts of our bodies do too. Stay away from giving her cold food,it probably shocks her stomach, like imagine your extremely hot then jump in a freezing cold pool, and WOW so I wouldn't worry, stay w/ room temp, and if you can, i suggest a visit to vet at least twice a year for reg checks and vaccinations. And pray.GOD bless, and much luck...Oh and to Bichnitz there is an ice cream for dogs ,genius, and chocolate too so check yourself befo u wreck ya self

Ya see it is quite simple. Dogs have dog food and people have grocery stores. Many grocery stores have a specific isle where they keep this food for dogs. I don't ever recall seeing ice cream or any refrigerated food in this isle though. I don't think the problem is with the dog. I think it is with you.

She has simply become very sensitive to internal cold. At her age, she has an excuse. BTW, ice cream is bad for dogs, especially older ones.

Maybe she's gotten more sensitive to the temp of food as she's gotten older. Try warming it up in the microwave or serve it room temp. She's older and you have to pamper her more!

It is just a quirk she has. Don't give her cold food.
No, I've never heard of that before, and I've been a Vet Tech for 3 years.
