There is special paint that you can use if it is tile in the tub/shower area that has an epoxy base -- over time this will chip and if not used right will get into the grout..... another option is called a surround... these can come in just the wall option which can go right over existing tile or you can get the 3 -4 piece deals that also go over the tub. Pretty nice when they are done.
If this is the floor you can:
1 - Pull up the old tile and re-tile -- have fun as this is a nice 2 weekend project if you aren't sure what you are doing.
2 - Go over the existing tile with new tile -- drawback: the floor level will be raised with the thickness of the next layer of tiles so be sure to get a door threshold at your nearest home depot / lowes .... you can grind down the old floor in that area using a hard grit sanding disc on the grinder -- will take time and may not turn out how you want if you are not sure what you are doing.
Good luck!!

- all have programs that deal with decorating. Maybe they have some advice. E-mail the shows (through their "contact us" buttons) and ask how to disguise the floor.
Ask at Home Depot, Lowe's. Scotty's, and the like, for advice.
Maybe you can adhere linoleum (sheets or squares) over it. (Ask at Home Centers.) ... Maybe other kinds of tiles...?
Wall-to-wall bathroom carpet is still available. Sometimes hard to find. Check out JC Penny's and Sears.
On some of the shows, featured on the sites I listed above, I've seen them make rugs out of various materials. Painted rugs ("floorcloths"), etc., but I've forgotten how they did it. The sites may have instructions. Oh, just found something --- a book (available at Home Depot) called "Decorating 1-2-3" has "floorcloth" instructions for "floorcloths" on page 325. (Washable...) If you go in a HD, look it up.
The public library may have decorator books that might help. (Do It Yourself kind.)
Can you take up that tile and put linoleum (or other flooring) down? It shouldn't be too hard to do yourself...
I'm out of ideas. Hope I helped. Best wishes to you. :)
.... P.S. Can you blend the colors you want and the ugly green through accessories, bedspreads, wall hangings, etc.? Put an area rug in the bathroom to cover most of the green, but if you have other green in the room & bedroom (to a lesser degree), it might work.
... OK, now I'm going to bed.... :)

You can either paint it or put a big rug over it. Let me suggest this thouhg: Green, purple and blue can look really great together. You could leave it and have like a sea glass colors. It would be very relaxing,. Get a purple shower curtain, blue toilet lid, blue or green sink holder thingies, etc. Use green , purple and blue glass bottles to decorate with. It will look very cute-PROMISE!

I would maybe try to paint the individual tiles to the desired color or maybe a pattern then go over it with a clear coat of epoxy to seal it and keep the color from being scratched off.You can get everything with one trip to home depot.check out this link for an example of what to do this is what you need http://www.rustoleum.com/Project.asp?frm_project_id=37&ddp=37&SBL=1

Go to a good paint store like Benjamin Moore or Sherwin Williams and ask if they can suggest a paint treatment for tile.

That is a hard question. It's hard to do much else but tear out the old tile which is a job and put something else down.
YOU DON'T WANT CARPET IN A BATHROOM!!!
you can't paint it either........will look like crap very soon.

Go to the cheapy store and buy a rug. You may have to cut it to fit the particulars. But it should cost you less than $10.
