You don't have to use the real player from real. You can use Real Alternative. Its powerfull and after you install that you can play your real files on Windows Media Player or other player. Here the link for the newest version : http://free-codecs.com/Real_Alternative_download.htm

for the complete codec pack including all video codec, Real alternative, Quick time. And all free.

If you're having trouble installing Real Player after their download, chances are highly likely you'll have even more trouble uninstalling the player.
Real Player is CHOCK FULL of spyware, not to mention after all the years it's been out--it STILL has bugs in it's software.
Surely there's other free media music/vid players out there that are better and easier to install/ remove. I personally like Winamp for the music and so far the Windows Media player works well for me.
