I'm havin the rest of my teeth taken out on Tuesday, but I can't get replacements til about springtime. We don't have dental insurance and not much money. My teeth started gettin really loose a while back and the front ones came out already . What I have left are mostly loose too. I'm 15 and I'm pretty freaked out by the whole deal, my mom is too. I only been to a dentist once before last week but that was like 6 years ago. I'm nervous about Tuesday, but I'm worried that no guys will even want to talk to me.

The dentist said a lot of damage has already been done from gum disease which I didn't know had til my teeth got really loose and started coming out. Cuz of that he said I wouldn't be a good candidate for implants which we can't afford anyway. There isn't anything he can do now that we can afford except take the rest of my teeth out and I'll have get fake teeth soon as we can save up enough to get a set. At least I don't sound so funny talkin now like when my front teeth first came out.

I'm not gonna lie..it will be tough in the dating scene. Unfortunately people are very superficial. You're very brave though! I don't know if I could do that. Make the best of it. Be confident and people will be attracted to that. Show your inner beauty.

Why did your parents neglect your dental care until all your teeth are falling out! What is wrong with you that all your teeth are getting loose and falling out at age 15. Yes my dear little friend, you will have a hard time with no teeth with even other people who aren't people you want to date because the world is so centered on beauty. A smile is the first thing people notice. I do not understand why you cannot get replacement teeth until spring. I do not have much money myself but would sell something, take extra jobs, look for help all over the internet, take my child to a university, whatever it took to help them have a normal smile. I am a mother and have my own children born with a dental birth defect and I have moved heaven and earth to get my children dental care. So trust me it can be done. I am my children's best advocate and I refused to let them down.

Don't' worry about what other people think. I know, you're 15 and at the height of what you think is your social life. But, trust me, anyone who laughs at you now, will be the butt of the ugly jokes when they're the ones missing teeth, getting fat, and balding at an early age. They'll be fixed before you know it. Just keep your head up and a smile on (with your lips closed if you prefer). Since you're getting fakes ones, yours will stay prettier longer than everyone else's. You'll weed out all the posers and find out who your real friends are very early in life. Think of it as a humbling and learning experience for you. Try not to thin about it as much as you can, and if you hear someone saying something about it, just come back with something snappy to make fun of them for. Just say, "It's okay, I'll have new teeth soon, but you'll be ugly for the rest of your life." Take it one joke at a time, and take it all in stride. Kids are flat out mean, but you have to be the more mature one and not let it bother you too much.

As a guy I'm not sure exactly what I would do. Try to make sure that if you want to become friends with a guy he knows what your personality is like. People judge other people by their looks initially, but soon will judge people by their character and personality. If a guy meets you in person, and you want to become friends with him it wouldn't hurt to talk either on the phone or online where he can get an idea for who you are without thinking about all of your teeth being missing. But even if you just talk face to face try to get to know each other. Then he should be comfortable with you as you, not what you look like.

P.S.
Don't loose sight of the end, keep up the perseverance.

Girl I`m sorry

Well now that you dont have teeth, you must know that guy's , your friends, and other people will be diferent with, and its gonna be a while until spring so first of all you must know that eating is gonna change, so change your diet, drink more milk because it has proteins and substitutes the meat that you wont be able to eat, fruits in liquid forms, they are actually good in taste.

...and bread well.... you can eat bread if you soak it in you cofee or milk shake it gets soft and you can bite it and your gums will be strong enough to chew it.

And the dating thing well ... post a question where you ask if there is anyone that would date you, you'd be surprised on how many guy's will accept you without your teeth.

Common girl get strong and come back to life!!!!

I think that the most important thing about a girl is her true heart, and I dont care if she doesnt have any teeth at all or is missing some. I`ve had some pretty girl friends and they knew that the phisical looks arent as important as the persons heart that's why they all got to me. I hope you do well on Tuesday and have a fast and easy recovery, and dont give to much importance to what people think and say, the important thing is that your happy. If you need to talk to someone to make you feel beter I'm willing to talk.

Good Luck.

I say, go around with a notepad and pencil and make it very obvious from the beginnning (by writing!) that there's something wrong inside your mouth but it won't be for long :)

Poor you! *Hugs*

Don't worry about the dating and such, I'm 17, I've never had a boyfriend, and I don't particularly want one either (well not until I meet someone I like!).

Just curious: How will you be able to talk and eat? And I'm sure boys won't refuse to talk to you. Dating I don't know, but not all boys are so mean that they'd run away from you!

Don't worry ^^ Try to distract yourself and get lots of hugs from your family ^^
*Hugs*

(Oh, and don't you just want to curse the American health care system for being so damn ***ing expensive. It's so much cheaper in Asia and Europe.)

There will be some people out there who are insensitive to those who have teeth problems, but there are people out there who do care about you on the inside, not only on the outside. :)
One of my supervisors has bad teeth herself....her top teeth looks like they were chipped really bad, and one of her bottom teeth are missing. When she smiles or laughs, she keeps her mouth closed. She's a nice looking lady for the most part, except for her teeth. But guess what? She's married.....and they have a young adult daughter together. :) Obviously, her husband loves her for herself, not for her bad teeth...so you can find someone like him...a nice boyfriend who actually cares about YOU.
Good luck and hang in there until you can actually get your teeth done. It'll be worth it. :) And you won't have that "Mona Lisa" smile like my boss has, if you do. :)

First of all, I'm sorry for you, it must be hard, but it has a solution don't be sad, dental medicine has evolved a lot, you can get implants and they are as good as your own teeth
