They say it takes half the time you were together. So for every year you are together it takes 6 months to get over the relationship. I have no idea who came up with that formula but it's close to being right. I was with my ex for 3 years and it took me about 1 year to get over it.

It entirely depends on the relationship and the connection you had with that person. One I was over before we even broke up, we were together a year. Another one I was with for about 2 1/2 months, and 3 years later I am still not over him, although I've dated other guys.

think mostly it depends on who decides to end the relationship, it's always hardest when you are happy with that person and they dump you, and easiest when you don't want to be with them any more and dump them.

I have had two major breakups and it took about a year for one and I still have feelings for the other and we broke up twelve years ago. I have been able to move on even if every now and then I think about the what if's.

my first love still haunts me...i think about her a few times a year...i was an @ss back then....
untill my late 20's all of my break ups hurt and there was that sence of loss for a long time...6 months anyway...after that i never got involved deeply...it was going out with a friend...searching for my soulmate...if it didn't go well i'd leave it as a frienship and continue on

I never "got over" any of them because the breakups were not all that dramatic. I remember them all fondly, they just become less important with the passage of time.
