Guantanamo is a military prision. It was originally created for people who are thought to be of an unusually high rate of risk to America, such as the 9/11 terrorists. Similar to Alcatraz, it is thought to be completely unescapable due to many factors including the ocean. Why we use that and not another jail is unclear to me.

They put it in Cuba because it would be illegal in the US. They have imprisoned people there that fought against the invasion of Afghanistan. Yes they use torture there

guantanamo is a prison in cuba for terrorists and any other non-citizen that "threatens" the safety of the U.S. There are over 500 prisoners there and only a handful have been told what they are there for. I think this kind of prision is a crime against humanity and the one who is controlling it should die a most horrible death.
