The hyper fair complexions of the red hair, freckles, etc are more prevalent with the older tribes of people from the far northern regions.....Norway, Sweden, Finland, the Scottish Highlands, Ireland.
There was a great deal of inner-breeding between the Vikings and Celts.
However red hair has shown up in the Gauls.....originally said to have come from Galatia, the same Galatia in the Bible.
Ancient Galatia was an area in the highlands of central Anatolia in modern Turkey.
The Celts are also said to have possible origins with the these Gauls.

Oh well it should certainly be linked to them, since only 0.6% of the world are red-haired and 1.3% for continental Europe. At the same time, 10% of the Irish are red haired!! So their frequency is almost 20 times higher than the world ' s average. So many Irish carry the redhead gene at least 35% in Northern Ireland or Ulster. The majority of Irish adult males do have a red/ reddish-colluded beard.

See it really depends what you mean.. Many Irish people do have those traits. But the thing is some don't. Also there are many other races who may have those features. So i guess i would say that it's usual, but not always associated.

It came from all those Vikings who raided Ireland, Scotland from the tenth century on. The settled down in the later centuries. That's why so many Irish and Scots, have that trait.
Check a redhead's background, and you will see that connection pop up frequently.

I've always heard that that is an Irish trait, but other Caucasian people sometimes have red hair, too. So, maybe not.
