Yes, is a sin acording with the Bible, but if you want stop it, you could get married and you will can feel amazing things with your husband. Definetly we have felsh and God knows is very difficult dont have a masterbation but if you practice the masterbation only feeling your pleasure without think in people may be would be a normal reactionof your nature. The point in the Bible is that: You could practice the masterbation depends of what type of masturbation you are practicing, because if you are seeing videos or something like that would be a sin, but if you only are doing it feeling your own pleasure would be differnet and, definetly if is a sin, and if would so terrible all people would be in the hell because all people have practiced it. Is impossible dont do it, impossible and a half. For example, when I do it I like imagine I am with my girlfriend, she and I are christinas and we have a very pure and innocent relationship but I am a man and I like imegine her with me having relations, doing moevements and I think is beautiful because I love her, but sometimes I dont know if is a sin, because we are single. Is so difficult, but I always try to pray to the lord saying forgive me for being weak sometimes, having a lot of thoughts with her. I LOVE HER LIKE CRAZY!!! and I want get married with her, but she told me would be better if she reserve his feelings about it until get married to explore everything with me leting me make her feel super turn-on and giving her the pleasure that she deserves. I think sometimes could to be imporant the masturbation before married, but sometimes would be good if you discover it with your wife. Paul talks a lot about it. Now I have a link that could to be good if you want read and make questions about Christian topics. www.gotquestions.org

This is a tricky question. It is more the thought than the deed that is the sin. Jesus said that if a man were to so much as look at a woman with a lustful eye, he has committed adultery in his heart. So to masturbate to a chick, or guy, or whatever, you are thinking lustfully of that person. Also, the story of Onan, i think it's like Genesis 38 or something, don't remember off the top of my head, do a search for Onan. Anyway, he was supposed to lay down with this chick, his wife at the time, and have sex. Well, he ended up spilling his seed on the ground and God killed him. Some take that as masturbation, and thus a sin, cuz Onan got killed. I'm not sure. I think the real sin there was just that Onan disobeyed God by not impregnating the woman. Masturbation is necessary, in a way. Whether or not it's a sin, i guess that's up to you. if you can masturbate, without thinking about a woman or man lustfully, then i don't think it's wrong. but i don't know how to do that so...oh well. a necessary evil then.

Religious attitudes towards masturbation have varied. In some, such as Buddhism or Unitarian Universalism, masturbation is ignored. In others, such as some forms of Conservative Protestantism, Catholicism, Mormonism, Judaism and Islam masturbation is regarded as an impure practice.
The biblical reference concerning masturbation is the story of Onan. Onan was the second son of Judah. After his older brother Er died, Onan was required by the tradition of levirate marriage to marry Er's widow Tamar. According to Genesis 38:7-9, when he had sexual intercourse with Tamar he "spilt his seed upon the ground" because the resulting child would be considered his late brother's, not his. In response to this transgression, God killed Onan. Masturbation is sometimes called onanism because of this reference and traditionally is considered to be a specific reference to masturbation. However, it is now considered to be a reference to coitus interruptus.
Personally, I don't consider it simful but I'm not religious.
It has been reported by Rolling Stone that a small Christian-right group in America is encouraging people to wear a masturband to indicate a commitment to abstinence from masturbation.

This was a topic for discussion at my church a few months back (and yes it was openly discussed, but males and females were segregated). It was decided (at least in the female group) that masterbation was not a sin, but only if you don't think it's a sin, and only if you aren't fantasising about someone in particular while you are doing it. The fantasising thing was considered sinful because apparantly it was on a par with idolotry, so make what you will of that.

I am no longer a Christian, but when I was no one ever mentioned it as being a sin. No where in the 10 commandments does it say not to masterbate. Everyone does it, or most everyone does it; Infact its actually healthy to do it because it relieves stress. It also lets out endorphins (a chemical brain reaction with an effect that causes happiness)

I've never seen mention of masterbation itself in the bible.... but the problem is not the act, but what's occuring in your mind during the act. If there were a way to masterbate without fantasizing about things, then I think there would be no problem. But that's just not the case. You're mind if fixating on things that should be avoided and Jesus said in Matthew 5: 27.
Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
28. But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
This basically says that your thought life is another place where you sin. Just laying there thinking about Pamela Anderson or whoever, is where the sin is happening.
This is a huge area of vulnerability for men. Huge. We really have to control our thought lives in this area. I won't suggest that I'm entirely successful in this area.

Not NO but HELL no. You see masturbation at least for a man is almost a must. It lowers some types of cancer. were it become's a sin is when you put it OR anything ahead or before Christ.
P.S. Choose A Name, what you said is not only the sillyiest thing I have ever heard it is down right STUPID. Since you say the bible addresses it would you like to share the verse.
P.S.S. MARY was a virgin not everyone, and there were Plenty of women around.

I used to think so the nuns drove that home . I have done some research since I am in my 80's. I now realize it is not sinful. Now I masturbate 2 to 3 times a week. I start with an enema which stimulates my prostate, Then I do my exercises completely nude. This provides constant stimulation to my penis and balls. after I complete my exercies I give my penis a vigorous hand job while massaging my balls. The ejaculation provides great pleasure and relief. I have never felt so good in 19 years

Depends on your religious beliefs...
if you're Christian, you might be interested in pondering these..
1 Cor. 6:18-20
"18 Shun immorality. Every other sin which a man commits is outside the body; but the immoral man sins against his own body. 19 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, which you have from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. "
AND
Matt. 5:28
"But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. "
I suspect you could replace 'woman' with 'man' in that last verse depending on who you are. :c ) The point being that I suspect masturbation and lust typically go hand-in-hand for most people...

Look if you count the seven deadly sins and the ten commandments as well as everything in the book of psalms, everything is a sin . I t is impossible to follow these rules 100 percent of the time. Is masterbation a sin ? Only if you feel more guilty and fustrated afters words .
