no you really should use the meringue powder it will last longer and the meringue make icing fluffier than color flow cause it has cream of tartar in it and color flow doesnt i dont think you will like the results if you use the color flow

I have never used merangue powder in buttercream frosting.

You Will Need
1 cup butter, softened
8 cups confectioners' sugar
6 tablespoons milk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Food coloring, optional

What to Do
In a large mixing bowl, beat butter, confectioners' sugar, milk and vanilla (frosting will be thick). Add food coloring if desired.

Makes: 5 cups

Use the meringue powder because it is a stabilizer so the butter in the frosting wont breakdown and melt.
