Well it's different for each state. If your in a hunting area or have a killed game such as a deer. they don't need your consent to search or have hunting style firearms. Such as a rifle. They have more arrest/search powers then a beat cop.

A game warden is over lakes, parks, woods, trails etc. A police deals with everyone in public not just thoses in nature. However a state trooper can not go over state lines and make an arrest a game warden however can chase you across country and make the arrest, but in most cases they will call the police to help. They do not have to have a warrent to arrest you but they wont come to your house if you've stole something from Walmart. if you or your property is on state of federal land the warden can searech you or your property without a warrent with a good cause. Pretty much the warden can arrest you for violations on wildlife, plants, etc and a police will help with the other things. And the game warden is just as if not more trained as the police officer. They very commonly work side by side.

NO. A game warden only has civil authority. And his authority only goes towards civil penalties.

Police only have criminal jurisdiction. They can only bust you for a criminal wrongdoing, whether it be a misdemeanor or a felony.

Police have more authority than game wardens. And the fines and outcomes are certainly more severe if a police shows up than if a game warden shows up.

they can also search your vehicle for any reason, even though they aren't as highly trained as a police officer.
