Every time I ask a question in the religion and spirituality section, most answerers are genuine, and try to provide help, but a solid handful of answerers tell me that they take offense to my question, and how dare I ask it in this catergory, or how dare I blaspheme their particular beliefs. But I did not make them click on my question, nor do they have to respond, so what gives?

Because they have no manners. I do agree that it is up to the person if they wish to answer or not. But some people just can't stop themselves from typing away.
I too have answered questions that are "I hate this type of person, do you?" questions. The I answer it as "with all the hate in the world, why ask this type of question", answer. So I'm sure I'm being a little sensitive, but I always try to give a complete and honest answer.
Religion is one of those things that really gets people's ire up...not sure why. We do live in a free nation that doesn't discriminate against race, color, creed, sex nor religion...well at least not most of the time, eh?!

I usually get the same thing and it kind of upsets me.I don't get the point either. I mean if it offends you just ignore it and move on with life. I hate it when I ask a question about that sort of thing and someone writes something rude. I think it is just because those people have nothig to do in life. Now i will admit I do this sometimes to and tho I don't mean to be rude but I sometimes people don't believe the truth and I tell them of what "I" believe.

I agree. But it doesn't really matter what the question is about, if it is offensive in the filthy kinda way, I will report it. We don't need that type of nonsense going on in answers. Some of those answers are really offensive and the perpetrators need to be reported and removed if possible. I click on those just to report them. I am not religious and I don't take offense at people's religious beliefs, I just don't answer to them, I don't even click on them because it's not my area. Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and that should not be criticized.

I wonder about that, too. If they don't agree, or are offended by anyone's question, they can just keep scrolling until they find a question they like. Why waste time trying to prove their point of view? That's just their opinion and that's all it will ever be.

hers what the problem is,, some folks dont allow for anyones Faith to be differant ,,,, and thats part the other is folks in this realm of yahoo that assemble in religion to bait and argue with folks ,,just being honest about their beliefs,,, thats a problem of mine,,, i like debate but from someone convinced religion or spirituality isnt real,,, thats not for this forum,, its just popcorn for the mind ,,a waste of space ,and time,, logics the thing ,, abeliever in buddhas principals is peaceful and kind ,,or islam in the real system,, or a real follower of the Redwords of the bible,, they are a Blessing to those around them ,,and convincing them or us,, to be natural ,,is asking them to become a real chore,, for society,, if i feel i will die and thats it ,,rape or murder isnt a real problem ,,or theft from anyone,, or any thing my mind could imagine is fine ,,without a moral compass ,,and a guide for living the world is a bigger mess ,, sorry a rant isnt what you wanted ,,so i apologise, its just me being a bad christian, again ,,,or a real person

When a question offends there is more of a need to respond by the person it offends.

others answer diffrently as they use grammer for good or bad and some use it for a game to hurt others as i feel freedom of speech is so nice to see because if we all talked or answered the same then wed all be boring and i feel degrees of answers are needed to like opinions so remember not all of the people answering are trying too be unkind.

Hunni, i so agree with you on that one, they are hyprocrites, they criticize the question yet answer it with a snarky answer for the 2 points and then half the time report it...what the hell is that about

The offended answers to show their offense, and usually they give such a stupid answer that I give them the best in sutupidity answer.
