Here's the deal.. my brother recently got ringworm. I set about disinfecting all of the hard surfaces and washing the laundry, but then I realized I didn't know how to disinfect any of the soft surfaces, like my couch, chairs, or beds. I went to the store, but didn't see anything for it. I have been using Clorox spray on them, but I'm not sure if that's a good thing because it is for hard surfaces. Can anyone recommend something else, or is the Clorox spray safe to use on them?

Ring worm is a fungus and requires pretty direct contact to contract it. As long as you have washed the bedding and he has been treated you really don't need to worry about the rest of the house except the bathroom. Make sure that until the infection is gone that no one uses his towel. If it makes you feel better you can lightly mist things with a 10% Clorox and water solution but be advised that this could cause fading of some fabrics and can weaken or cause holes in others.

well I don't know anything about all the cleaning. My dad used to have a place on his belly where he sweats and his belt buck rubbed. All it is is a fungal infection. Just like athletes foot. Just keep common areas clean and once treatment is started and the rash starts to heal it is no longer contagious.

The Clorox everywhere spray should do just fine. But keep in mind it is common thing and it won't kill you. There are not worms crawling around your sofa or anything.

I thought ringworm was a parasite, not a fungus.

If you have parasites, do a colon cleanse eating raw vegetables, lots of greens with a little powdered cheese & olive oil for a few days.

My son was about 14 months old when he started climbing on the couch. It took a couple weeks for him to get good at it.

Ringworm is a fungus. You should have no problems other than skin to skin contact. Use nothing.
