Nothing is wrong with him. He saw society, and followed through in his art. His later works included repeated images of electrocuted prisoners, to drive the point home that American culture is making us desensitized to death.
The function of the artist is to reflect what he sees, and he is successful and remembered becase he did that in a way no one else had done or ever will, and he did it without fear. A lot of artists today could take a hint from Warhol and step forward and paint something more than pretty outdoor scenes and other sell-outish works.

Well he really isn't feeling well these days... in fact it seems that Mr. Warhol has a terrible case of death... yes he came down with it in 1987, and he hasn't gotten any better since then so the outlook is rather grim I'm afraid.

Questionable talent (like so much garbage that passes for "art" these days) Meanwhile, seriously talented artists are languishing all over the country, waiting tables and hoping for an elusive "big break" that never comes.

most importantly he no longer exists.
However if your query is what is wrong with warhols art?
my answer would have to be it is not my cup of tea but he made millions at it.

Thank you Eggman. My thoughts exactly.

Except, I see nothing "wrong" with him then or now.
He was an interesting man with a different outlook on things. Many people liked his viewpoint on life.
