I wouldnt say im scared, but it makes me a little nervous. When i was a sophmore i dated a black guy and his whole family disliked me because i was some "little white girl". I have never been racist or prejudice and sometimes i forget that just because i accept somebody doesnt mean that that they or people around them are going to accept me.

I have dated outside of my race and I still would. The only thing that I was scared of was how my parents would react. They were never happy about it, but I did what I had to do to try and find happiness. Of course there will always be some ignorant people out there who will not agree with it, but who cares, it's your life. Do what you think will make you happy.

I have dated women of other races and I thought it to be great.
Even if it does not work out you grow as a person by learning from the differences between you. Dont be scared of skin color, we all have the same needs.

Hey man, I am a perfect example. I'm black in a basically white area. My parents don't care who I date, but I run into many problems. I am near-best friends with a few white girls, and they kinda like me, but they have no desire to go out with me. I am totally unsure about interracial dating other races b/c they might think I'm crazy or yell rape or something. I've never had a girlfriend or been kissed or anything in my life, and, unless i find a willing white/other race girl or a black girl, i'm not gonna find anybody in high school.
If you are thinking about it, go for it. There's nothing to be ashamed of. Those people that you'll see sneering as ur goin out with ur girl haven't progressed out of their racist mindframe. Why else would we exist on the same planet if we weren't meant to live in harmony?
I'm not sure of your religion, but if you are a Christian, the Bible tells of the equality of all Christians in the book of Galatians in the New Testament.
"There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus." (Gal. 3:28, NIV).

Anytime I think about dating I get scared. But just the other day there was this woman intern from another plant and I got to talking with her. She was really intelligent and asked a lot of good questions about how our plant was run. I thought she was really pretty (she had full sexy lips, (talking Angela Jolie like). It took a lot of effert to look her in the eye and not stare at those lips. Well anyways she went on to another line and one of my friends come by. I told her "I HAD to talk to her (the intern) because she had nice lips." Her response was "Who the black girl? Yeah she did have pretty lips." It just took me back because her being black didn't even cross my mind, I just thought she was pretty and smart. And heck yeah I would of went out on a date with her.

I COME FROM A SMALL TOWN IN MS., AND THERE IT IT IS AN UNWRITTEN RULE OF SOCIETY NOT TO DATE OUTSIDE OF YOUR RACE. MY BEST FRIEND TRIED IT,HE KEPT IT A SECRECT FOR ABOUT A MONTH AND WHEN HE GOT CAUGH BY HER BROTHER HE MIGHT AS WELL HAVE BEEN A LEPER. HE COULD NOT GET A DATE ON EITHER SIDE OF TOWN AND FOUND OUT THAT THE OTHER "FREINDS" WOULD NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH HIM. THIS WENT ON FOR OVER FIVE YEARS AND HE CONTEMPLATED MOVING AWAY, BUT HE COULD NOT AFFORD IT. SO HE WAITED AND WAITED , AND FINALLY IT SEEMED AS IF HE DID HIS TIME FOR THE "CRIME", AND ONE DAY WAS ALLOWED BACK INTO THE SOCIAL CIRCLE AGAIN. WE BOTH LIKED GIRLS OUTSIDE OF OUR RACE, BUT WE HAD TO DO IT OUT OF TOWN.IS THIS WRONG YOU ASK, IDO NOT THINK SO MY MOTHER MARRIED OUSIDE OF HER RACE , BUT HAD TO KEEP IT A SECRET FOR FIFTEEN YEARS. I NEVER KNEW MY STEPDAD EXISTED UNTIL AFTER HE DIED, ALL BECAUSE SHE WAS AFRAID OF FACING THE CONSEQUENCES IN OUR HOME TOWN AND FAMILY. MY BELIEF IS IF IT MAKES YOU HAPPY, GO FOR IT WITH EVERYTHING YOU HAVE, AND TO HELL WITH WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THINK OF YOU. THAT IS JUST MY OPINION THOUGH!
