I had this so-called friend who claimed to be a Christian, and she ended up stabbing me in the back among other things. She also told me that some things I was saying were wrong, and then she would turn around and say the same exact thing. Needless to say I don't speak to her anymore.

It is not saying you are a Christian that makes you a Christian.

If you are a Christian your lifestyle will reflect it. However, we all make mistakes.

Remember to remove the log out of your eye before you remove the twig from someone else's. Pray for her, and still be her friend.

20 years from now you will look back on this dispute with humor and embarrassment.

What it will take you nearly 20 years to learn is that none of it matters. People agree, people disagree. Very little can be done to alter the nature of humans. You will learn to handle it better through experience. You will learn that no matter what you say or do, some people will agree and some people will disagree. You will learn that it's ok if somebody disagrees. You will learn that when you are, indeed correct, it doesn't matter if people disagree. You will still be correct either way. You will learn that the people who are most insistent that their way is right and your way is wrong are the most insecure about their position.

You can either wait 20 years to learn all of that or you can take my word for it and take it to heart now.

All people that say they are Christian are not. The only one that truly know are the ones that have trusted in the fact that the Lord Jesus Christ died for their sins. Of course, the Lord Jesus Christ knows and also the devil. In fact, Satan also has ministers who teach rightness. 2 Corinthians 11: 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 2 Corinthians 11: 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

I am not a Christian. I find most who profess to be Christian are just like your friend. They justify their behaviour cos' it doesn't matter what they do on earth Christ is their gateway to heaven. Good luck to 'em all. I choose to be a good human - except when I'm in a bad mood on Answers and cuss someone out - doesn't matter cos' apparently I'm not going to heaven anyway.

1 John 4:1-6
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. [2] Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: [3] And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. [4] Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. [5] They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. [6] We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
2 Cor. 4:6
For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Discern with the Holy Spirit, let Him guide your life. Offenses will come. Forgive and move on. I have been hurt enough times in the church where it is like water on the duck's back.
I serve the Lord, not man.

Let's not forget the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5). If they have none, then beware.

It's sad because things like this give Christians a bad name/image.

Most people are like that today because of Satan's influences. I have to say...a large number of Christians are overly hypocritical.

That sounds like every Christian I've ever met. Their religion flows from their mouth, not their actions. Very typical if you ask me.
