The only reason that Christians try to push their faith on you... is because we Love you and we know what happens if you dont one day accept Jesus and we do not want to see anyone perish. I have been reading alot of your statements about us pushing faith down your throats, but I wonder if you know why we do this? I do know that some so called Christians do not witness in a loving way and thats wrong..but we witness to you because of Love and we will do this till the Lord comes back.

I wanted to start by saying that I am a Christian.

People who are non-Christians are not going to feel better after reading your post. This post comes across as the same pushiness that people don't like anyway. I understand that you believe very strongly, as do I, but please find a new way to share the love of God. This just seems pushy and it almost sounds like you think you are better than the "poor unsaved people."

God bless you though for trying!

Do you presume me to be a non-believer? Non-believer in what? Where is rationality? How do you conduct a two-way debate with a one-sided mind? Knowledge effects you on many levels. Whether something is true or factual is not relevant to a believer of faith. If you have been told something all your life and even if new evidence presents itself - you will tend to support the former idea. You have to understand the "Christian Mind." Most Christians see the world as black and white: no shades of grey. Either you are or are not a Christian. There is no other way to look at it. If you are not a Christian you are lost. Part of every Christian’s salvation and “Ticket to Heaven” is inextricably linked to several essential factors and one of which is to “Spread the Good News.” This is known as Evangelism. Yes. You have to endure the Christian’s witty incite filled pejorative analysis with cut downs and invidious diminutive behavior. It is their duty to explain to you what a looser you are for not being a Christian and what winners they are for being on the winning side. Although it seems like insecurity at first glance I feel it somehow reenforces some need to show they are superior. Wait, that's the same thing. . .right? Typical Christian comments are, “Are you still practicing that Witchcraft. . .come BACK to Christ.” “Hinduism is just a bunch of Pagans. . .FIND the Lord.” “You KNOW you are lost without Christ.” “The Bible SAYS. . .” They assume you should agree with them because they assume what they are saying is the ONLY way to look at it.

In the US most non-believers or people of other faiths were once Christian. We all know quite well what the bible says about us. By people pushing their faith on us and try to convert us you are only succeeding to drive us further away and reminding us as to some of the reasons we left in the first place. We respect the fact that you have your belief system even if we don't agree with it. We ask for that same respect when it comes to our faith. We don't want people to try to convert us, if we wanted to know about some things we would ask you to explain it.

Hey Christian..Do you realize this?? That your trying to change us and not let us think for ourselves is considered rude and arrogant?

Each of us as a person, YOU DON'T KNOW US, so I have a really hard time seeing how you'd really be able to give a damn, beyond your arrogant belief it's your right to dictate to people, about anyone you don't and will never know even exists! Back off.

Edit: You say you don't push it? Here's the thing, by what and how you wrote the original question/post, to us you DID. That is why people are saying so.

Indeed the question should be addressed not to non-believers but to the substantive ' belief ' itself. If out of true love and compassion for humanity Christianity believed in something authoritatively considering it as always righteous and repose faith unquestionably by all followers of that Religion then by definition of compassion that to err is human and to forgive is divine there is no forgiveness in pushing faith in a punitive manner or forcing love in a possessive manner considering what is good for others as a personal concept. As an example the Church's acceptance of Ptolemy's Geocentric theory as an authoritatative concept and punishing all those who disagreed with it notably the famous astronomer Galileo Galelei is something that does not descend the gullets of non-believers so lovingly. If a person is imbued with true love, compassion and tolerence,as Jesus did and even paid with his blood and life in upholding them as an Epitome of Virtue, consider what Swami Vivekanada painfully noted at the International Conference of Religions the audacity of those preachers seeking implicit faith in religious precepts as their personal virtue and codemn fellow human beings to the contrary as sinners.

I agree, but half-heartedtedly.

And second (in response to the answer a few above this one_, the pagan people were not the first people on earth. Remember Adam and Eve? And in reference to "the first people were pagan", there was a Great Flood.

I believe that Christians should try, but not in extreme ways. remember, not ALL Christians push their faith on non-believers, but there are extremists or people who are more enthusiatic about their faith in every religion, and citing a few doesn't count.

To witness is to share your own faith and your experiences with it with an invitation for others to join.

Trying to push faith on a person is an entirely different thing. That's belittling someone elses understanding of this world and their place in it.

Work on making your own light shine, and stop trying to blow out other peoples candles.

"The only reason that Christians try to push their faith on you... is because we Love you and we know what happens if you dont one day accept Jesus"

No you don't, you *believe* you know. Believers just can't seem to understand the difference. *Believing* you know is *not* the same as knowing.

"The believer is not free to have any conscience at all for questions of "true" and "untrue": to have integrity on this point would at once destroy him."
[Friedrich Nietzsche, The Antichristian, section 54.]

Hey believer, did you realize this? The only reason we try to push our atheism on you is because we love you and don't want to see you waste your whole life believing in something that doesn't exist and doing what some old book tells you. We do it because of love.
