Paint them or get fake nails, until your real ones grow out and you will lose the habit. It took me three years of fake nails, but I now have my own long nails that I have noo urge to bite!!

How To Stop Biting Your Nails
This has to be one of the hardest habits to break, but it can be done. Here are just a few ways to make it easier.
Difficulty: N/A
Time Required: N/A
Here's How:
1. Decide that you are going to stop. Pick a day and say that's it. No more nibbling. Now here are a few little ways to help.
2. There are some bitter tasting liquids that can painted onto the nails. I don't know anyone who actually liked the taste, so this is going to slow you down and give your nails a little time to start growing.
3. The minute you wash your hands, re-apply the liquid mentioned above. This will also focus attention on your hands and the nails which should be visible by now.
4. Keep an emery board in every room and one in your backpack or purse. The minute you notice a snag, use the emery board and not your teeth.
5. Buy a few bottles of pretty polish and some hand cream. You are going to keep your nails polished and your hands soft. In a weeks time, you are going to notice a difference.
6. Once a biter, always a biter. I have stopped, but it only takes a snag for me to revert back to old habits. I have to follow these tips too.
7. You might have been looking for a magical way to stop biting your nails, but I'm afraid that there is no such thing. You simply have to put your mind to it and stop!
8. Will power is an amazing thing. If you want something badly enough, you can do it. If you want pretty nails, you are the only person who can stop it from happening.

Invest in regular manicures. Your hands will look so pretty you wont want to bite them.
If you cant afford it, do them yourself. But keep them polished!
Although, now that I dont bite my nails, I am always chewing on the skin around my nails. It's nice to have long nails though.

I was a lifelong nail-biter and found the only thing that worked for me was to have an acrylic coating applied to my own nails. After several weeks, your own nails grow out under the acrylic and you can have your manicurist apply only a very thin coating of acrylic to keep you from starting the habit again. This has worked the best for me, and I think I've tried everything. Good luck.

It takes will power. You have to really want to. Everytime you notice that you are doing it you need to stop yourself. The product I used was called "Nail Bitter" and that will help too. It took sometime and a lot of effort for me but I did it and so anyone can. I am so happy with the end result, I have real nice nails that I am not embarrassed for anyone to see.

Fake nails is a good idea, like the girl said above. I tried that and it didn't work, but it's the only good idea that I have for you. I don't know how I stopped. I just looked down at my nails one day and realized, "hey, I haven't bitten my nails in months and look at them!" - it was pretty cool. I haven't bitten my nails in 3 years!!! :)

use a rubber band around your wrist and when you notice you are biting your nails flick your wrist with the rubber band....it only take 21 days to develope a habbit. Eventually you will stop. It worked for me, my nails were pretty despite my bright red wrist

Use "bite no more" nail polish. It's available at Sally's Beauty supply.
You can also put deodorant under them. It tastes nasty and sticks to your tongue all day long, but I don't know if there are any health concerns with that one.
