Apples will not make you gain weight! Apples are a "negative calorie" food. What that means is that your body burns more calories digesting that apple than what your body absorbed from eating it. Other negative calorie fruits include:
apples
cranberries
grapefruit
lemons mangos
oranges
pineapple raspberries
strawberries
tangerines

I know the vegies too so if interested in those, just let me know.

How many apples are you eating? One of the best weight loss diets I ever did was to eat an apple and have a glass of water before each meal (3 apples a day). Fruit is high in fiber and nutrients and is lower in fat and calories than snack food and fast food. Just don't eat 12 apples a day, in addition to your other meals and snacks, and you should be fine!

As another has already said, calories are calories.

However, fruit (especially fruits high in water content, like apples) are lower in calories than most other foods, and generally have no fat.

In addition, apples act as a natural diuretic, so eating lots of apples or drinking lots of apple juice, flushes out your digestive track, and when food in your digestive track moves faster, fewer calories are absorbed.

So, enjoy those apples!

Not at all, in fact if you ate a lot of apples every day, you would feel full most of the day, and not feel the need to eat much else because of the high fiber in apples. You're more likely to lose weight.

Fruits are very high in simple sugars and eaten without care can be very fattening. Any dietician will tell you to eat fruit sparingly whilst dieting. It's not just the sugar either, the stimulation of large amounts of insulin will block fat and protein metabolism.

Yes, way too much of a good thing, can be a bad thing. Calories are calories, whether or not you get them from apples or potato chips, you're still getting calories and if you don't burn them, you'll gain weight.
