I'm not trying to lose weight. I am presently at a healthy weight, maybe even a little low for my height (but I always have been). My problem is that in the past few months to a year, I seem to have lost all self control when it comes to junk food. I never had this problem before. It seems to be an issue mostly when I am bored... I'll start snacking. And also, my coworkers are always bringing cakes and doughnuts and stuff to work for any occasion you can think of. And when I'm not exposed to junk at work, I'm exposed to it at family parties... Can anyone give any good tips on how to avoid this constant temptation????

Remove ALL junk food from your house. Make a deal with yourself that if you are going to get up, get dressed, get in the car, go to the store, walk EVERY aisle, you can have some junk food. I guarantee you are not going to want to do all that for a cupcake. ;-)

At work, it's harder because it's considered "rude" to not indulge. The way I handle it is to take ONE piece of something and eat it throughout the day.

It also helps if you keep a case of water under your desk and drink at least one bottle of water before indulging. It's almost impossible to pig out that way.

Also, use your lunch break to go for a walk around the building or run errands. You can't pick up junk just sitting around in the kitchen if you are not in the office.

Good luck

If you are still young, it will be easier. You will have to say NO..... to all of the offers that come your way. Keep fruit or vegetables or raisins or breakfast bars near by. When someone tells you, "oh you look great, even too thin, have a piece of cake". Do Not take it. I lost weight twice when I was younger, now it is harder and I just can't say no... good luck :>) Sharon

Never deprive yourself. Eat 1 of something but stop there. If you try "dieting" you will begin the starvation cycle and your body will crave food. Bring healthy alternatives to work and keep them at home. Carry them with you so you will always have choices. Its ok to have desserts now and then!
