If you are in desperate need of using the bathroom, you may lightly tap and let the person know that you need in there when they're done. But other than that, I wouldn't be rush someone.

I know personally it takes me awhile to use the restroom. Knowing that somebody is waiting for me to get out actually raises my anxiety level and makes it take longer for me to finish up. This may be the case so by attempting to rush someone you may actually slow down the time before you can get in.

Try being understanding. The person you're waiting on may have diarahea, constipation, cramps, or something else uncomfortable. They may need the extra time in there... and the peace to relax that goes with it. Just try being considerate and waiting it out.

I do not think any one would want to purposefully stay for a long time in a restroom because it is not a pleasant place to be. If some one takes a long time, they must have some medical problem. If you have an urgency and no other place was available, then I believe you coud gently knock on the door.

It depends on how you measure "a long time". Also it would seem you might consider why that person might be taking a long time. My son used to take a long time just because he was lazy and didn't realize others needed to use the restroom too. I take a longer time because I'm one-legged and it's harder for me to get around. Maybe it's an older person who needs extra time to get around. If you've given adequate consideration about why that other person is taking "a long time", and if you have need to be in that restroom, soon, you might encourage them to hurry and get done so you can go. It can be done politely, and if you're old enough to be able to use a computer to ask your question here, you're old enough to know how to be considerate and polite. God Bless you.

it depends on how urgent your situation is. If I go to use the restroom and the person using it takes too long I would rush them because need would definately be urgent for me not to wait until I get home.

no some people actually need that time in the bathroom due to problems---- I know i have IBS and it can hit anytime usually in stores where i have to stay in the restroom for as long as 35 minutes....now if it is just a home bathroom and its makeup then feel free to tell them that you need the restroom and after your done they can go right back to whatever they are doing

Never rush, they may have irritable bowel syndrome, or stomach flu, or food poisoning, or their system may just be slow, or they may be experiencing pain, whatever. Rushing them would stress them and might tighten up their insides, making their elimination longer. They may already be embarrassed by the long time, rushing may increase their embarrassment.

Why would anyone want to do this to another person? If it were you, would you wanna be rushed? Be sensitive to them.

No, they may have a medical problem such as irritable bowel syndrome, etc. or they may be taking care of a colostomy or urostomy. Rushing them will just make them nervous and cause a greater delay. Try finding another rest room nearby.

No anyone who is taking a long time in the bathroom must have a problem, in fact I think I would look for another bathroom just in case.
