On my credit report,I have been given a charge off debt for a credit card I was an authorized user. Am I liable if I didn't give social security number? If not, what do I need to do. They have not tried to collect from me just put it on my credit.

If it's on your credit report, the only (repeat: ONLY) way it got there was by an identification identifier that's acceptable. For credit, that identifier is your social security number.

So, you may not have given them your SSN, but they got it somewhere.

That said, you now have a charge off on your credit, and it will be a long time before anyone will extend you credit again. Even if you paid that card off, the chargeoff will stay.

I'd select the people I chose to do financial business with (or share a credit card with) more carefully in the future.

Technically, an authorized user is not liable and a co-applicant is. In order to be added to a card as a co-app, they must have a signature on the initial application form or they have to read a certain disclosure to the person being added. Keep at the company to find out how you were added and asking them to remove it from your report. You might have more luck if you speak with a supervisor- just be nice about it! Customer service reps are much more likely to help people who aren't rude and insulting.

Contact the Credit Bureaus and Dispute the charge off.

And thats the way it goes, the same thing happened to me and they put it on my credit report. You have to seriously challenge this with the company and it could end up costing YOU money, they said they would notify the credit bureau to take it off but guess what after 4 years they haven`t and I just have to deal with it I guess, good luck to you.

If you were an AU on the card, you are not liable for it.

You should dispute it with the credit bureaus as "I have never had this card in my name, please delete it."

Don't do your credit bureaus disputes online or by phone. Hand write your disputes and mail them.
