It's worded wrong. The version I know is:
Angry and hungry are 2 words that end in -gry. There are 3 words in the english language. What's the 3rd?
If you put quotation marks around "the english language" the answer becomes obvious.

"Angry" and "hungry" are two words that end in "gry".
There are three words in the English language. What is the
third word? Everyone knows what it means and everyone uses it
every day. Look closely and I have already given you the
third word. What is it?
Answer: "language".
This puzzle has circulated widely on the Internet for some
years, but usually in an abbreviated form such as "Name three
common English words ending in 'gry'", which has no good third
answer.
I went to look it up and found this on dictionary.com.

The answer is language. Everytime this question is asked, some guy comes on here and gives a big long explanation. If you'd like to save five points, when you go to ask the question, wait for the list of similar questions to come up and you'll get your answer.
