Poutine is a dish consisting of french fries topped with fresh cheese curds and covered with hot gravy and sometimes other additional ingredients. Poutine is a fast food staple in eastern Canada; it is sold by nearly all fast food chains (such as New York Fries and Harvey's) in the provinces, in small diners and pubs, as well as by roadside "Poutine Trucks". International chains like McDonalds, A&W, Kentucky Fried Chicken and Burger King now sell mass-produced poutine across Canada.

Traditional poutine is fries, cheese curds and gravy.

I made Italian poutine last week - Fries, cheese curds topped with homemade chunky spaghetti sauce.

A lot of places don't use cheese curds; they use shredded mozzarella instead.

The most classic and greatest of all french fries dishes. The french fries are covered with cheese curds and gravy. Fresh cut, double fried fries are the best. Sometimes you'll find a little chopped onion on top.

I am now hungry.
