RE:
Does anyone know how long it really takes to digest red meat?
Health nuts say it takes up to a week, but most everything is out of you in a couple days, or so I thought. Does anyone know for a fact or have a link with correct info? Thanks!

What is *your* definition of "digest"? Your body has broken it down and absorbed the nutrients it is going to within the 4-8 hour range, but it may take the colon longer to eliminate the remnants. This process is highly variable between people. Some people defecate daily, others once every few days.
BTW, some of us "health nuts" are omnivores. You know the brain is a metabolically expensive organ, and had our ancestors voluntarily elected to not eat meat, we would not be here today.

It only takes a few days to digest red meat. Anything that you eat you chew up into small enough bits that that would be acurate. I promise. My father is an assistant meat manager for a really big grocery retailer. He is over about 250 stores. I know my meat facts. I am an open book...

The term "digest" has many meanings, however I can tell you that even a Nickel is "digested", one way or the other, in 24 hours.
