I have a friend over there. I'm just paranoid!! Is there a list where I can check? Like this past week that the two guys were killed..one lived 3 streets away me :( ... they mention their names because their deaths were tragic since they had been kidnapped and mutilated, but what about the others? They say 3 soldiers died with a bomb here, 5 there, 6 here,... and they don't say their names. Is there a list that we have access to? Thanks!

In response to some of the earlier "answers." There is no good reason to support this war, and many of those soldiers have died for nothing. People don't want to hear it, because it is aqn outrage! Don't hide behind a shroud of immorale lies, accept the truth and be OUTRAGED! Stand up and ask the men in charge why they sent our children to die for nothing!

Bashar, we count everyone that dies from an injury related to the war in Iraq. that number (30,000) is an approximation of the amount of casualties, a casualty is a person injured or killed in a hostile environment. So the death rate is around 3,000 whereas the injured soldiers are close to 27,000 (because of recent advances in medicine, we are able to save 90% of injured men in this war as opposed to vietnam where the number was less that 50%)

Your not being paranoid. It's tough having someone you care about over there. They don't mention names because they don't want the family finding out on the Internet or some other way.

Gary Trudeau, who writes the Doonebury comic strip, posts a list of names periodically in his strip. Try writing to him.

So...if they died in what you call a "so called war"...are you going to tell their family and friends that? Tell them their loved one's died for nothing? That they wasted their life? Doing this would disrespect their decision in joining the military....and disrespect their life.

We only calculate who they die in the battle field, if we include those who they die in hospitals or disables or mental problems, then it may reaches more then 30,000 soldiers.
