For years most of the maintenance jobs at United Airlines were African American employees. The particulars of the job might not have been what some of would like to do, but the pay was great as well as full medical/dental, pension, etc. Now those employees are no longer with the company as United Airlines has outsourced that to another company and the majority of employees are Mexican and the pay rate is considerably less. All that and they received corporate welfare to help them out. American workers are losing badly. 20 years ago unions jobs were over 43% of the jobs. Now is it around 18%. We need unions back. The same amount that is paid in dues is well worth what you get back. My Dad was a teamster and his raises were on time and appropriate for the work he did. No one got rich but you could make a decent living with benefits and a pension.

I called AT&T Thursday because I have had an ongoing problem with my dsl. The woman that took the call had a very thick Indian accent. I felt bad but had to ask her to repeat everything at least twice. She was giving me instruction on what to do to make my computer run faster and to get a better connection. Well after several attempts, it did run a bit faster but I still only had a very low connection. I asked her about that again and was told that she had helped me all she could and that she was going to be hanging up. I was frustrated but before I hung up I asked if she was in the USA and she replied No, India. Mexicans taking jobs here and corporations outsourcing all over the globe and now they are shipping them in to work as well. 10 years ago, I read something that said this would happen and that we needed to be thinking of becoming self-employed. If I could think of what to do, I would do just that.

If someone does a better job than you... and your boss decides to give them the job rather than you... It's called DOING A GOOD JOB... Why does race have to be a factor?

If you are doing a job right now... and an illegal immigrant has taken work from you... It's the kind of job you could probably find very easily, b/c not a lot of people want to do them...

i don't know why all you guys are insulting this persons intelligence. Just because you have a job that can be takin away by illegals doesn't mean that your a moron, it just means your boss wants to take advantage of cheap labor no matter how good or bad it is. I've seen lots of people with good jobs lose them to illegals and it sucks, so to answer your question its not fair to us

No one can "take away" your job unless your boss thinks that they are doing a better job than you. (assuming that you are both getting paid the same amount of money for doing the same job. If "they" are working harder and for less money, the company may be tempted to get rid of you)
