Jesus is more than a man, more than an angel, but less than Almighty God. Jesus is God's firstborn Son, and the King of God's Kingdom. Here are some other special titles that Jesus has:
(Matthew 16:16) Peter said: “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God
(John 1:41) “We have found the Messiah” (which means, when translated, Christ)
(Revelation 19:13) The name he [Jesus] is called is The Word [Logos] of God.
Here are some additional Scriptures that help clarify that Jesus is different from Almighty God:
(Deuteronomy 6:4) Jehovah our God is one Jehovah
(1 Corinthians 8:4-6) There is no God but one. For even though there are those who are called "gods," whether in heaven or on earth, just as there are many "gods" and many "lords," there is actually to us one God the Father, out of whom all things are, and we for him
(Colossians 1:15) the firstborn of all creation
(Mark 10:18) Jesus said to him: 'Why do you call me good? Nobody is good, except one, God.
(Revelation 3:14) the Amen says, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation by God
(Philippians 2:5-6) Christ Jesus, who, although he was existing in God's form, gave no consideration to a seizure, namely, that he should be equal to God
(John 8:42) Neither have I come of my own initiative at all, but that One sent me forth
(John 12:49) I have not spoken out of my own impulse, but the Father himself who sent me has given me a commandment as to what to tell and what to speak
(John 14:28) I am going my way to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am
(1 Corinthians 15:28) But when all things will have been subjected to him, then the Son himself will also subject himself to the One who subjected all things to him
(Matthew 20:23) this sitting down at my right hand and at my left is not mine to give, but it belongs to those for whom it has been prepared by my Father
(1 Corinthians 11:3) I want YOU to know that the head of every man is the Christ; ...in turn the head of the Christ is God
(John 20:17) I am ascending to my Father and YOUR Father and to my God and YOUR God.

No actually what these people are telling you is not true. The bible clearly says Jesus was the son of God. God gave him life here so that he could do what God had told him he had to do. This was preach to the people, be an ex. for all of us, etc. God gave him the form of a man so he could live here for the time. You should try reaading the bible more closely and attentively.

My understanding is this;
Jesus was formed in the womb of Mary and thus born as any other man.
When Jesus was baptized if John -God's very spirit (The Holy Spirit for God is not a man but Spirit) came and dwelt in Jesus. This was when he was born of God..., "THE FIRST BORN OF MANY" is what I believe it was the Apostle Paul said.
If Jesus had of been God - his temptation in the wilderness would have been a joke.., Jesus would not have been weak from being without food for 40 days if he had been God because God is not weak...., and we are told plainly in the former testament (Old Testament) that God is NOT a man.
Having covered this - GOD LIVED / LIVES in Jesus! Jesus being the Ark of the New Covenant, a vessel not made by human hands unlike the Ark of the former Covenant.
When Jesus said he and the Father were one - he did not by any means suggest they were one in the same -BUT JOINED - by God's Holy Spirit - not a separate entity named the Holy Spirit but God himself being Holy and being Spirit.
Jesus said more than once (see gospel of John) that he spoke exactly what the Father told him. Jesus also said the deeds he did (miracles) he did as the Father showed him, exactly as the Father showed him. He stressed that the Father was at work IN him..., HIS FATHER DID THE ACTUAL MIRACLES..., but through Jesus..., Jesus understood faith unlike the vast majority today. Jesus was faith.
The prayer Jesus prayed for his followers and for generations to come, he clearly mentioned HE (Jesus) IN GOD, and WE IN JESUS and BOTH WE AND JESUS IN GOD so that we all maybe what? ONE IN HIM!
Now by trinity logic- that must make those filled with the Holy Spirit as God himself... which is utter nonsense.
Jesus was his own man -period. Jesus being his own man, dedicated his life to his Father's will.
FINALLY..., the Bible tells us that when all God's enemies have been placed under foot - he (Jesus) will turn ALL power and authority given him by God - BACK TO THE FATHER.... so that he (Jesus) would be like the rest of his brothers.

Jesus is The Son of God. Jesus is part of the trinity, Jesus, God, and The Holy Spirit. Read the Bible for more information.

Jesus not "was" but "is" God from all eternity and He came to earth in the flesh to redeem us and offer us salvation. So Jesus is God (2nd person of the Blessed Trinity), and was also incarnate in the flesh as a man.

Jesus was ONLY a man. Adam was a man that sinned and passed that sin on to his children. Jesus was the Lamb of God and the Sacrifice EQUAL to Adam. If he had been GOD MAN he would have been TOO IMPORTANT to equal Adam's sacrifice, but as a man he was equal to Adam. That was God's incredible sacrifice to humankind, that he let his only creation come down and die for us.

Wow. Some people are a little fanatic, hunh?
Jesus was a man. He was a man selected by God to be His "son" on earth.
To the people who became Christians, (because really, the ancient world didn't have tv or the internet - it makes sense that God would send different messengers to different people in different parts of the world thet would fit into the existing social structures - Jesus, Moses, Budda, Muhammed - similar messages that all fit in with the cultures of the peoples - coincidence?) Jesus brought God's most recent covenant with them, erasing all previous covenants (ie: the ten commandments - there had been several before that - they're in the old testament) and replacing them with the final covenant: a blanket idea of following Jesus' example ("believing in him"): to love God above all else, and to love your neighbor even as you love yourself.
To God, Jesus gave an understanding of what it is to be human, the trials of life, the weakness of the flesh, an understanding of moral pain and suffering, happiness and love. Christians believe it is because of God's understanding of the limits of mankind as gleaned through His connection with Jesus, that God can forgive men, and not judge us harshly for our sins if we are truly penetant for our wrongs.
"Virgin" in German, and in Latin and ancient Hebrew and in Aramaic - all the languages the bible has been translated through, means "young woman". The German word Jungfrau (virgin) translates literally to young woman, and is used for all girls 12 and younger, but no one older, regardless of sexual experience. Since most girls under 12 are virgins, the term is largely interchangeable. In Jesus' time and culture, girls were usually married off as they hit puberty. Between their young ages and the structure of social moreys at the time, few girls would ever be pregnant before marriage. The fact that Jesus' mother Mary WAS was certainly a good way to single her out as an uncommon mother at the time. But the term "virgin" does not necessairily mean what people today assume it does.
Christians are monotheistic. One God. Catholics have somehow decided that God got split into three beings. That's a little odd to me. Jesus prayed to God. Do you pray to yourself? Me, neither.
And why beware of false prophets unless God meant to send a prophet?
It's all terminology and details. It doesn't have much to do with the big picture, which is much more simple and much more important. (see above) But just a thought in closing:
If you can't question your beliefs, and come out with your faith unshaken, then you never really believed it in the first place.
