If the shrimp was pre cooked use it! If they are raw shrimp don't take a chance! But if you won't listen to this advice then take out an insurance policy on your husband first, then let him try a good portion of the shrimp. Wait a day if he's ok cancel the policy and eat the rest of the shrimp!

I have to answer this question by saying no, definitely to . Frozen shrimp that has been frozen for 6 years would not be good to eat. Would be afraid to get food poison myself.

there are expiration dates for a reason. But hey, some people are just hard headed. Let him learn that lesson the hard way. He'll either get really really sick and make great friends with the toilet. Or he'll end up in the hospital or worse. But he's grown and can make that decision himself. Right? Or you can treat him like the over grown child he is and let common sense take over and throw the s**t away. There are buy one get one free sales all the time on shrimp.

Don't eat shrimp that has been frozen, for more than a year.
I read a story about scientists, who actually eat meat, from a 12,000 year old, frozen woolly mammoth, with no ill effect. Don't risk your health, for a shrimp cocktail. Nothing feels worse, than food poisoning. It isn't worth it.

NO! it is not good anymore. You could always throw it out & buy some more fresh & replace the old stuff. Even if he wanted to eat it trust me it will taste more like the freezer now than shrimp. Please go to the link below to see the freezing guidelines for many foods including seafood.

Using common sense, I would say that the shrimp is definetely not edible. Don't risk it. Go buy some new shrimp.

Well it won't be spoiled but it could be badly freezer burned. It isn't dangerous. No bacteria grow in frozen items.
I certainly wouldn't toss it without trying it. You have nothing to lose.

I have a motto about food: "When in doubt, throw it out." No need to take any chances. It's not worth it, not even for $1,000 worth of shrimp.
