I would have to say the south beach diet is one of the best and it is very health for your body. I found the first 2 weeks to be the hardest . I lost 19 pound in that time. I have been on it now going on 2 months. All together I have lost 27 pounds. It is noticeable. I also feel a diffrence in my health. I would say go for it. I have never found a diet that acually worked untill now. Good luck.....

The South Beach Diet does work and I found that reading the book was very informative and explains a lot about dieting and why it does or does not work. But, I must add a word of caution...as with any diet, you must follow it and stick to the guidelines in order to see results. Also, I found that the results come quicker with more rewards in the look and condition of the body if you incorporate some type of excercise routine into it.

I tried it and it works real well. It is similar to the Adkins diet, but the South Beach diet allows you to eat more vegtables so is more healthy. I think it is a very doable diet along with exercise,
The diet calls for more food than I could eat on a daily basis, so hunger is not a problem. Reading the book gives you a good perspective on how the system works, and it has several good receipies for each level of the diet.

yes and no for the short term it works but if you go back to eating the same way you will gain back all the weight you lost plus some the best thing to do is learn about food everything you possibly can and then redo your eating lifestyle that is skip junk food or at least limit it to once a month or less and cut your portions a divided paperplate can help there also, when hungry eat fruits or veggies they will be less fattening than other choices you may tend to make-last of all BUT VERY IMPORTANT exercise... and you should see a doctor before making any big changes

Hey, Honda.. it doesn't work worth a ****, man!! Don't invest one dime into it.. it's a buncha bull.. I mean, at our Meijer's the shelves on clearance are like truly loaded with all the Southbeach bullshit food they can't sell. (I don't mind picking up some health bars, man.. just to get the vitamins..) I don't mind braggin I lost 75 pounds almost 5 years ago just jogging (up to 5 miles a day now, 365) and eating low fat (vegetarian if I can pull 'er off), high fiber, man.. I mean, that's nothing new, right? It's just that every goddamned body wants to drive to work, sit on their fat *** on the job, drive home, sit on their fat *** at home watching comedy station then for 'entertainment' they go to Applebees for some of the worst **** ya can imagine to eat.. lol. I don't play that way. Just think (a friendly tip) any little bit of exercise ya can fit in is like 'money in the bank' man. I am married to a body builder and I do my own workout routine, too. Ya gotta just 'do" it and damn, don't think about it.. that's what works the best.. Do it, don't think (lifestyle change thing goin' for ya-) g'luck later (melancholia)

Yes it works very well.

I have lost 43 pounds doing Atkins which is very similar.

I have kept it off for five years now.

My doctor is amazed at how good my triglycerides and cholesterol have become. I also have a lot more energy.
