Yes, fillings can break...Typically you are told not to eat anything right away because the material the dentist uses to shape the filling takes a little while to set up/harden completely and if you are chewing you may change the shape. Also, novacaine is often used to numb the area of your mouth to lessen the pain, and if you do not have feeling in say your cheek or your tounge, you can bite yourself!

Yes they break. Your mouth is very sensitive after you get the filling done, so you have to give it time to heal before you can eat solid foods. There is nothing wrong with you eating liquid stuff like soup or something soft like creamed potatoes. Just lay off the hard solid stuff for a little while until those fillings get used to your mouth.

Yeah Fillings Can Break. I think You Cant eat anything beacuse its still very delicate and it can break. Take care of it cause i went through a painful exprience getting mines. They had to give me a shot of novicaine (<- Spelling) and im only 15 years old

sure they break. There isn't any reason why you can't eat after getting one, although your mouth and tooth might still be sensitive from having the work done.
