My best friend is a pediatrician and she jokes that it's the 8th wonder of the world how toddlers can thrive when all they do is drink. My 3 yr old is just heading into this. He ate really good up until now. I give him 1-2 Pediasure shakes a day, to get some more vitamins/nutrients into his belly and keep trying to offer him the foods we eat. He will take some off of our forks at dinner time, like a dog. But, for the most part, he drinks his milk/shakes and eats on the fly! They grow out of it.

My son was the same at 2years. It drove me crazy. Doctor told me to not give it to him because it was like a meal and he would not want other food. Also too much milk can give them an upset stomache because of a certain bacteria that is present in milk. But he just kept on wanting milk, even when I refused he still wouldnt eat much. He finally outgrew it. He is now eight, he is healthy and eats just fine. I now have a three year old who wants nothing but Nutella. You can't win!

you are filling her up with milk. If she is almost two you should be able to compramise. Have some food then milk. Problem is you are also at tantrum age....so be patient. Vitamins will not give her the nutrients as well as food will be at least be thankful she drinks milk. My son is 7 and still won't. At least i can get dairy into him in other ways but your daughter really needs to get some fruit and vegies in her growing body. The problem with too much milk is it can lead to obesity and can constipate her

My son only wanted milk after we took him off of formula for a long, long time. Sometimes, that's all he'd want. We generally tried giving him food before the milk but that didn't always work. Maybe not too many choices, she's really only able to choice between two without getting overwhelmed and then tell her that to get her milk, she must eat so many pieces of whatever. That works the best for us but it doesn't always work.

Yes, this is normal for toddlers. Sounds like you are doing just right by offering choices and a vitamin supplement. At that age many prefer one food at a time until they acquire a taste for variety. Just keep offering healthy snacks. You are doing just fine. So don't go crazy, you can do that when your toddler is a teenager.

This is very normal-try not to worry, my son was the same way and now he is 3 and he has really picked up on more eating. For a while he just wanted to drink milk and juice all the time. Good Luck.

You need to give her healthy snacks. My daughter was a picky eater too but I had nursed her for a long time too. maybe separate times for the milk and food. The milk may be filling her up so she doesn't to eat. Can you give her yogurt too?

That was me when I was a baby! No joke, my parents still to this day remind me of when I was little I only wanted milk and juice. Introduce her to new foods, like a game maybe? I'm not the best a figuring kids out, since I'm basically one myself, but when I babysit and the kids don't want to eat I tell them if they don't eat they don't get to play. Once they realize I'm serious they eat what's in front of them. Good luck with your daughter!! :]

My nephew was the same way. Never would eat, he was too busy moving and playing. All her ever wanted was milk. His weight was fine and he was healthy. The Dr. told his Mom not to worry, because he would eat when he got hungry and to give him the stuff he likes to eat. Now that he's ten, he won't eat too much meat. He loves fruit and veggies. Good Luck.

You are NOT alone. It's TOTALLY normal for toddlers to be picky eaters. I put ketchup on everything and that USUALLY works! (Only if your child likes ketchup, of course, which most todds DO) She should be fine as long as you're giving her the supplements. You SHOULD try to limit her daily intake of milk, though. Trust me, if she gets hungry enough, she'll eat! :) Good luck!
