I would tell you these: you're there to because you have something to tell to the ppl, something that they don't know, and they came to listen you, they want to hear what you have to say. So try the best to tranfer them your knowledge; it's pretty simple; and if you see it like that it should be simple for you too. don't think there is something to be scary about, it is not. And the mos important: practice!

Did you know that, in America, the number one fear is public speaking? Death is number 2. The first time I spoke in front of an audience was a speach I gave in 9th grade. I started shaking, my voice quavered, i got really hot...and then I passed out. I ultimately became a high school teacher, and had no choice but to get brave. I have found that I am a lot more calm as long as I am not speaking in front of my peers. Put me in front of a group of teachers, and it's 9th grade all over again. Just keep practicing, you will find your groove.

I used to be that way. What happened was that I kept doing it and got positive responses and the more I did it, the easier it got.
I went to a close security prison once doing research. It was a Saturday morning and one of the two days a week that the inmates were permitted to sleep in. The prison woke up the inmates and made them come down to listen to me ask them to take a survey. I just wanted to cry. After I talked to them, I felt I could talk to anyone! You just have to keep going...it should get easier!

A little nervousness is good motivation. Turn it into a positive. Maybe speak about it a little to your audience. Interject humor. Get the audience involved.

Surprise!!! Most people have that. Even the best speakers. If you are doing this on a regular basis, it would help you to take a class or two in Public speaking.

First thing, practice as much as possible. Second sounds silly, but encourage yourself verbally, in the mirror. Look yourself in the eyes when you do it.
Pressing the tips of your fingers together, and any stretches are good.
And very important, don't talk about how nervous you are (to anyone - unless they ask and you're just really honest).

called stage fright!! What you could do is take some public speaking classes. I also find that being completely prepared and knowing what your talking about helps relieve some of the anxiety.

You probably have something called stage freight. It's the same thing you have described. The only way to get use to it is live out your fear by trying to do it on a daily basis. Good luck!!

You need more self confidence. Chances are you know your subject well and those listening do not. Tell them you will answer any questions at the end to avoid confusion. Then go ahead and look at their ears as you go. Remember you are the expert and they want you to tell them something. Give yourself permission to say "I don't know but give me your number and I will get you an answer".
