animal abuse is against the law but there are no stiff punishments for it. my heart aches and i get really sick when i read about animal abuse. thats why i cant read about it. i dwell on; it and my heart gets really heavy laden.that like one of the newest question on this site. a sicko asked what it feels like to have sex with a dog. a person like that is a danger to society in my opinion. anyone that would hurt a defenseless child or a defenseless animal doesnt deserve to be out of prison. i always wanted to start an ambulance service for animals that need emergency help. this would also include any animal that gets hit by a car. maybe someday i can see that dream come true. until that day comes, i can only pray for animals and hope they are safe, fed, and have water and love.

there are laws against animal abuse if you know of someone abusing an animal call the police and if you watch animal planet in some cities like detroit and houston there are special cops who will come out and assess the sitcuation and if they feel animals are in danger they will take the animals to a vet to be checked out and will keep them and if it is really bad they will have charges brought against the person who abused the animals. But just call the police and let them handle it people who abuse animals should be locked up and can be locked up.

There are already anti-abuse laws everywhere. If you see someone abusing there animal, report them. TRUE abuse should not be tolerated. However, people here see to be totally in the dark about how out of control animal control is in some parts of the country.
How about some laws to stop AC from seizing someones loved pets for inane reasons like the water dish ran dry at the wrong time or because the dog doesn't have appropriate toys.
How come no one cares about that??? Will you expect people to care when its YOU and YOUR dogs???
And to Tonya - the sicko you are referring to is just looking for attention, just ignore him, if it were true he wouldn't be posting about it

Dont make adopting an animal so simple, there should maybe small backround checks on ppl who purchase or adopt a animal, and maybe before the ppl adopt the animal that somebody who works or a volunteer at the animal or adoption center should go to the home of the ppl adopting and look at the living conditions the animal will be taking up. and make another law that a animal must have a yearly check- up to make sure the owners are feeding and taking care of the animal

There are laws but not enough enforcers. If you want to expand the laws, I would check with a local legislator. Call the local dog shelter and see what they know or if they can give you phone numbers. If you can find an Assembly or Senate person who feels the same as you, you may find a friendly ear that would be willing to sponsor a bill. It is very expensive and time consuming but well worth the time.

Sometimes there need to be more and better laws, and sometimes there needs to be more enforcement.
Start by learning about your own state, county, and city/town laws. Your local animal control office should be able to help get you started.

Check on RSPA on the Website or check in your state or area for this organisation if you have any specific issue of cruelty for any existing law on it and assistance.

You can't. That's for adults.
And,it's useless & repressive to try. Enforcement of exsisting statutes is plenty. Butt out of other folks lives. Especially when you don't know what you're talking about....which is the VAST majority of times.
