women in Islam can be a teacher but not imam. a woman can lead the prayer for muslim women.
women go thru monthly period which prevent them from praying at this period of time. also it's not right for a woman to bend over infront of men while praying. it just seems more reasnable for the man to be the imam. there is nothing wrong with that.
stop these ideas. western society have enough high divorce rate between married couples because of all this crazy ideas. if we just listen to God our family and society will become much healthier and stronger.

Imam is someone who leads the prayer of muslims and later on say khutba in mosques. that is, give something like a speech about islam or a matter that is important in our lives so.. yea islam.
01. female muslims are prefered to pray at home
02. female muslims cannot talk to males and females in public as their voice is considered awraa, that means something like a private matter of our own that we cannot share with men.. because.. i think we all know how men can be with just woman's voice!
HOWEVER
03. muslim women do share and lead in Islam. Back during our prophet days, women helped teaching Islam, spreading Islam and also her opinion was heard and it saved alot of troubles with un-easy ppl.
once again i say, please, if you know nothing about Islam, don't talk about it! thank you very much
ps: wearing black ?! what book have you been reading? they should be covered, not wear black! color never been minded really. women should just be covered well. and NO, we dont shut up and we dnt follow male orders! poor you for what you read, you just wasted your time learning from the wrong source!

OF COURSE THEY CAN!!! They can't have Imamat infront of men but they can infront of women. There are reliegious matters in which a lady can only discuss with a lady. For gooness sake, the Prophet's wives themselves were spritiual leaders in their times. Hazrat Aisha for instance. She was a political, relegious leader, a teacher..... Behind her veil, she used to give lectures to the males. So was Hazrat Hafsa bin Khtaab. So was Hazrat Umm-e-Salamah. I ask you, where is it in the Quran that a woman cannot preach to women? Have ever the Prophet forbade women to come to mosque?
That's ridiculous to what people above me are saying. IT shows how much Islam is misunderstood even my the muslim community itself!!! That's y u c so much corruption happening!!

females are allowed to talk to females. Females are allowed to talk to 'mehram' males i.e. their father, their son, brother, uncles, grandfather, etc. mehram men = men the women can't marry eg. father, brother
females in their monthly periods are not allowed to only pray, fast and 'tawaaf'. They may even go to mosque and sit at the rearest corner when they have thier monthly periods
Oh N by the way, I don't see any lady priests and lady bishops!!!!

According to the book of acts, women are forbidden to even speak and must be in the back of a congregation. Women ministers is a deviation from Christians. Same with women rabbis and women wearing yamakas.

Muslim women are only allowed to enter the mosque through the back door. I don't think that they would be allowed to become Imams.

They not only have no rights to lead spiritually, they seem to have no rights of any kind at all.
Oh yes, they have the right to cover themselves in black rags in the hot sun. They have the right to do exactly as any male orders them to do.
They have the right to keep their mouths shut, etc.

as with catholic and most protestant religions, women are not allowed high office in the 'church'. seems to me that none of the worlds leading religions value women's spirituality very much

No. Women can pray in the mosques, in their special "section", but they cannot be Imam.
But, they don't have to go to mosque to pray. They can also pray at home, alone.
