The infallible word of God has been set down by the fallible hands of men. The very meanings of some words have been lost, and others severely strained in translation. Entire books referred to in the Bible are missing.
There are two contradictory stories of the creation of human beings in Genesis. The first has God creating Eve from one of Adam's ribs, while the other has God creating both a man and a woman from the earth. Both smack of mythology, though the latter is close to the truth, if one does a chemical analysis of the human body. But both stories cannot be the truth.
I believe in God and His word, but am very skeptical of His interpreters.
Discussions like this are intellectually interesting but have no bearing on salvation. Love God and love other people. (Yes, that means performing good works: see the Book of James. It is specifically stated in that book that faith alone is not enough.) Those are God's commandments, Jesus said, and all else derives from them. Follow those two commandments, and God will grant you His salvation.

double damaging aside this may well be a solid question...I even have yet to confirm any specific examples published. Very exciting. undergo in innovations although, that the Bible isn't continually meant to be literal. one might desire to argue very rationally that creation in seven days is impossible, yet maximum biblical pupils agree that this became no longer meant actually. once you verify out the stairs of creation in Genesis, it is eerily resembling what technological understanding says occurred. So I dont think of the creation tale has been disproved in the slightest degree, even though it didnt take place in 168 hours. additionally, the evolution of the full human species from strictly 2 human beings looks no longer likely, yet purely because of the fact they have been the 1st those with information of sturdy and evil, i do no longer remember seeing everywhere that for the time of specific pronounced that they have been the "basically" human beings in the international. they might have been the 1st to have information or information...perhaps they have been purely singled out for example?

there are two types of things in the bible: those which you can prove, and those which you cannot. can you prove there has never been an insect with 4 legs? can you prove that there ever really was such a thing as a dinosaur walking on the Earth? can you prove a man named Jesus really saved us from our sins?
the answer to all of these question is... NO. you can't prove it, because you weren't there. you can build your case through evidence, but you can't prove it except possibly in courtroom terms, "beyond a reasonable doubt." a lot of good that is. if i ask, "was OJ guilty of killing his ex-wife?" most of you would say yes, even though it was proven beyond a reasonable doubt within a court of law that he didn't.
now, try these on for size...
can you prove a man named Jesus lived during the time period spoken of in the bible? can you prove the history of the Jewish nation as recorded in the old testament is true? can you prove that Julius Ceasar truly existed?
the answer to all of these would be... YES. how? again, we weren't there? we base it on writings and archeology. the writings and archeology we would use to try and prove those things i said previously. so why are these considered true and the others false? because there are so many written records that match up that we view as though they were speaking to us directly. the writings found in the bible are some of the most cannonized writing ever found. literally thousands of writings that corraborate each other are found to prove the text written in the bible are things they thought, believed, and experienced. on the other side, we have Ceasar... less than 100 writings, but he is considered more true than Jesus. so, if you're keeping score, 1,000+ pieces of text that verify Jesus lived, died, and said he was God. less than 100 say there was a man named Ceasar who ruled the Roman Empire. logic indeed...

leviticus 11:23 "But all other winged insects which are four-footed are detestable to you."
insects don't have four legs they have six, unless the bible is talking about alien insects from another planet or something.
and dont try to tell me that the writers of the bible didn't count the two legs that they only use for jumping not walking, because it says right in leviticus 11:21 ...those which have above thier feet jointed legs with which to jump on the earth."

Is there anything you can disprove about Green eggs and Ham? It is just as infallible as your book of fiction known as the bible.

Is it? Let's take a look as we attempt to answer the question, "How did Saul die?"
1.) He committed suidide:
1 Sam.31:4-6
"Therefore Saul took a sword, and fell upon it. So Saul died."
1 Chr.10:4
"Then said Saul to his armourbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. So Saul took a sword, and fell upon it."
2.) He was killed by an Amalekite:
2 Sam.1:8-10
"And he [Saul] said unto me, Who art thou? And I answered him, I am an Amalekite. He said unto me again, Stand, I pray thee, upon me, and slay me. So I stood upon him, and slew him."
3.) He was killed by the Philistines:
2 Sam.21:12
"The Philistines had slain Saul."
4.) God killed him:
1 Chr.10:14
"So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the LORD, even against the word of the LORD, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to enquire of it; And enquired not of the LORD: therefore he slew him, and turned the kingdom unto David the son of Jesse."
There you have it--FOUR different accounts of Saul's death in your "infallible" Bible. They cannot all be correct--either he killed himself, or someone else killed him, or God killed him. If God cannot even remember how Saul died, and give us the correct story in the Bible, then how am I to trust anything else the Bible has to say? I can provide you with many, many other inconsistencies if you like.

Yes of course. Being nailed on a cross and stabbed in the side and then left in a tomb for TWO days kills you. There is no resurection.

try to disprove it instead of prove it?? If I already know and believe its true, why'd I try to disprove it? People that don't believe must have the proofs that it isn't true.
