Macintosh Operating System beats any other on the market for reliability, user friendlyness and rarly bets a bug. I expect Microsoft to leave the competition behind in software through fear! I see no reason why yahoo should do the same. PC 1st software is the only thing that a PC user could argue being a bebefit of being a windows user. Please end this and release software simultaniosly. I use many operating systems but prefer OSX for all the right reasons. I do not want to contemplate using an inferior operating system just to use Yahoo's services. Or is Yahoo and others like it prepared to lose millions of users to other internet comunities? is Yahoo working on a solution?
Will the new Yahoo chat Applet be operable on OSX in the near future? I've owned PC's since windows 95 and owned a mac since OS 9.2. As any other mac user will tell you the OSX experience is far more enjoyable. Alot less hassle, safer, and unlike windows in operating system can't be reached by a damaging virus.

Surly its a monopoly issue too. There is a virtual PC for mac. I doubt any virus could harm anything other than the windows OS. I don't like having choices taken from me. I choose mac for good reasons. I am one voice but I will do all I can to promote mac friendly software and no other. Yahoo you suck! I thought you was my friend. Maybe Google will enter the chat world and whipe yahoo off the map. being victimised for choosing a better product is rather annoying!

I believe Macintosh are launching an OS for PC's. If this is true maybe it will reduce the monopoly windows currently holds which i see as a huge problem. Personaly I like the build quality and design features you get with an imac or G5 Tower but it is the OS that I love. I wouldn't mind building my own PC to spec and being able to choose my prefered OS and i'm sure many other's agree. I'm a big supporter of linux too. The brief experience i've had with Linux has lead me to the conclusion that its high maintanance. I hope it irons out these problems. A OS for the people by the people can't be a bad thing. A OS forced onto people surly is a bad thing and shouldn't be happening. PS Not sure im right but Mac virus's cannot touch the OS files just your personal data. So I delieve.

Truthfully I believe the secure part of Mac is abit over stated. While it is devoloped on a Linux distro(BSD), making more secure then a Windows system The simple truth is Mac security flaws are there(ask any hacker, I have.), but no one wants to take the time to look at Mac when they have such a small share of the market.

And there are 20 known viruses for the Mac, they just can't spread like normal viruses can on windows because THERE AREN'T ENOUGH MACS! There are far more Windows machines on the internet then Mac machines, so spreading the virus is far easier.

And as much as i hate defending windows there IS more software options for it. Many game developers develope for PC, not Mac. To be frank Mac hasn't just lost to Windows, but now Linux(just as, if not more so secure then Mac) holds a greater share in the computer market over Mac. Google and many government institutions doesn't run Mac systems, they run Linux/Unix.

I don't mind people attacking Windows. It is really unsecure, yes it bugs out alot if you don't care for it (personally my XP runs fine as long as i clean it with Ccleaner and scan for errors once a month) and how it handles memory storage bites.

I expect Linux to be the operating system of the future. It's getting easier to use(SuSE and Ubuntu are examples of this), more software is being developed, its mostly free and its OPEN SOURCE. people can make linux an OS for the people, by the people.

I love my Mac - but one of the main reasons it is so safe and bug free is that there aren't enough Mac users for the nerds who come up with viruses to bother with. There aren't enough to bother the other software nerds either, apparently.
